Makes Dalton's contract look like the best bargain ever.

Stafford has started 109 games for the Lions, compiling a 51-58 record.

A stat that they gave on Pardon The Interruption today was that Stafford was 5-46 against teams who finished with a winning record. I couldn't believe that's what they said, so I rewound it and put on the close captioning to be sure...5 wins, 46 losses. That is an amazing stat.

Got me curious as to see what Dalton's comparative numbers would be. If I've got it correctly, Andy's record against teams who finished with a winning record is 16-26-1.

So now let me ask, when Andy D. next contract comes up what is he worth? Hes got a way better record than Stafford...................

Forget that. What's Aaron Rodgers get next year?

Will Green Bay pay him?

Stafford will have the highest contract until the next QB is resigned. Contracts are crazy

Is he a top 10 QB? If so you pay him. His numbers are actually pretty dang good, aside from wins and losses. That has way more to do with the lions being a garbage organization. They've won one playoff game in like 50 years or something crazy like that.

Very True, He might be paid higher than Andy is in FA.

Top-notch QBs — and there are maybe 10 of them in the NFL, and I'm probably generous — almost never go up on the open FA market. Smart teams know how hard it is to get lucky and draft the right guy and then develop him to be QB of the future that they will stick with the known commodity as long as possible as long as he can perform and give them a chance to win.

The truly great ones are horribly undervalued, and many of them take far less than what they could make on the open market so as to help their team have as much cap space left over as possible to put good pieces around them.

There's plenty of ways to be creative with signing bonuses and end-loaded contracts so as to lessen the cap hit. Rodgers will get whatever he wants to give his team the best chance to win another ring.

Aside from wins and losses? Isn't that what it's about. Question. If you can have Stafford or McMahon, who you taking?

Jim McMahon? I'm taking Stafford and it's not even close.

of course it's about wins and losses but if you want to judge an individual player it's not as important. As a team the lions are garbage and have been years. Near or at the bottom in rushing every year.
