I would add Madison Central and Fern Creek to the list. Central returns 93% of our offense from last year, and have the state shot block recorder holder, set last year, Isaiah Cozart. I will also give my homer, disclaimer since my son plays for Central. We have 6 of the teams on the above list scheduled already so time will tell if they really belong there.

 

Fern Creek returns a ton of talent from a state run last year and should be in the mix again.

Yes, that miss was a bad one if you follow the 6th & 7th region which are two of the best regions in the state. If you list 15-20 schools and only 2 are from those regions you are under estimating the strength of Louisville area schools. Fern Creek was 35-3 last season and return about 75% of their scoring. They beat Ballard 4 times who lost their top 2 players and 50% of their scoring.

 

I think Paducah will be a Top 15 team and PRP would beat many of those teams listed head to head. I don't think Bowling Green, Taylor County, Owensboro Catholic, or Barren County would be Top 5 in the 6th or 7th. BG lost a lot, but they might surprise me given the coaching.

I think Paducah Tilghman will be a top 10 team in the state this year. They only lost one player from last years team and he wasn't a starter.

Not sure Bowling Green will be top 15 after losing Terry Taylor, Kyran Jones, Zion Harmon, and Deangelo Wilson. Their top 2 scorers back are Trey Jones at 3.3 and Jarius Key at 5.1. Those 2 will have to lead the team.

Glad to see Walton Verona getting the recognition it deserves - that team could make a DEEP run this year.

Their solid though...they have a good collection of athletes as always...it is BG. They'll hang around the top 15 I think.

Everyone is missing out on a huge sleeper in the 2nd region. Christian County will return to Rupp Arena.

Also I think Hopkinsville and Christian County are really close right now and if I had to pick today I'd pick Hopkinsville to win the region. Hopefully County can prove me wrong and be really good, I just don't see it yet.

I agree about the 1st region top teams being favored to win the 2nd region. This is the weakest I have seen the region in a very long time, if not ever. It was weak already then 3 of the top players in the region transfer.

I agree season can't start fast enough. Madison Central is a very competitive team. Them and GRC ( Clark Co) will be a game you don't want to miss. Lord willing I will be there.
