Wow!! Surprised by the lack of kids on this. Especially since I know 2 from Beechwood that have had multiple D1 coaches show up last Spring to talk with them.. Plus I would add Nelson Perrin from Scott for sure.

 

Also, for what it's worth Beechwood WON the State Championship and they only have One Player on here when I see Campbell County was 4-8 (2) and Ryle will now have 4 when you add Chisolm (Should be on-No brainer). Beechwood has some game breakers and game changers. Derry (I mean he will probably be a household by EOY! McKinney lead the entire Tri-State (All classes in Int's) takes away a whole side of the field and Davis and Castleman are game breakers! There are choices.

 

Trust me, I'm about as big a Beechwood fan as any non-grad you'll come across. Getting any good info on their program is far from easy, though. Among other things, you're lucky if they report any game stats within 9 or 10 days of the game being played, if at all before the season ends. And then if they do actually report them, the stats they report are far from comprehensive. Feel free to check the KHSAA's scoreboard and see for yourself. A program with the resources of Beechwood's should be able to scratch together a statistician who can report stats within a day or two of the game being played.

Some people just can't be objective when putting a list together. Grudges and agendas come in to play for them. Or they do things just to be negative and draw attention.

 

The mods do a good job being objective and looking at all aspects. I appreciate the time you all put in to get the job done. People can question the rankings, but usually the BGP rankings are spot on.

Conner is a mystery, every time you think they might be good, they end up not being worth a darn. I also dont see Cooper being down as others do. Dixie is another ??? as well. Id say 4-7 you could rotate however you want until after the first games.

No way WV should be rated higher than Highlands. Maybe last year, but not this year as the Bluebird team is much better and has more depth.

I don't mean to pile on, but I do want to add another vote for the Beechwood players mentioned above. They have earned the recognition. All of them were key contributors to a state champion team and they are back this year. My understanding is Adam Derry, Logan Castleman and James Davis are all getting D1 interest.

 

I will make a prediction. Adam Derry will be one of the most heavily recruited linemen in N. Ky. in the last ten years. He is going to have big name colleges recruiting him.

I love the discussion. CWB did a great job of putting together his list and others are offering their opinions. It's hard to include every deserving player on a list like the "players to watch." So I appreciate when others draw attention to a deserving player that did not make the list and provide their reasons. This is called dialogue, which is what a forum is all about. Don't change a thing CWB, or you won't get the input from so many others.

 

I can't wait for the season to begin. There are a couple of teams that I think were ranked too high, but I just don't know. Scrimmages only tell you so much. Each team holds back their good stuff offensively and defensively. And coaches make adjustments based on what was learned during the scrimmage.

 

So my suppositions may prove to be totally off-base once the regular season gets going. This is why I am so excited for Friday night. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Your Top 10 is off a bit. Beechwood Won State and virtually has everyone back. They also just beat the brakes off Conner in a scrimmage! They couldn't move the ball. No way they are 6 more like 3. Just saying...
