Holy Cross 28 NewCath 6 (Freshman)

Featured Replies

Meaning that NewCath has the resourses to extend their district by being a private school. Therefore don't condemn HC for being able to do the same.

If they have kids that want to come to their (HC) program that is a testament to the school and coaching staff. I think it's great for NKY football to have another small school powerhouse. HC isn't a powerhouse yet, but they have come a long way and they will get their soon.

Well it helps to become a powerhouse when you talk kids out of your district to play for you. If Holy Cross was not a private school they would not be where they are today in their progression in football IMO...

However it is nice to see another team competing with NCC and Beechwood now, but the reason why they have been able to make such an improvement in these years unlike Bellevue, Ludlow, and Dayton have been unable to do for any consistant time is because they are a private school...

So I am glad that they will be out of 1a here next year, because they do seem like they are going to start to become of the better teams now year in and year out because of it...

I'm 99.9% sure the poster is a Bellevue guy and not an NC guy.

Secondly, NC does have kids from out of their district as was seen last year with one of their best players being a Taylor Mill kid.

And the fact that NCC is a private school has NOTHING to do with it.

Where, again is Jared Lorenzen from? And where did he play?

I couldn't agree with you more. But all i'm saying is that if your school has that resource than why not! Besides private schools had to start at the bottom at one point too. Basically, develop a good program (no matter what school -- a private or public) and the talent will come.:D

But the "Taylor Mill" kid (which I believe was actually Independence) and his family are members of an NCC feeder school parish with a sibling in the feeder grade school, which points out how silly the whole feeder parish thing is.

Bingo.

If we're talking about the same kid(Fidelity?) , I'm 99% sure its Taylor Mill(not that it matters).

Double bingo and technically it may even be South Covington but certainly within 20 miles and definately a feeder parish serving NCC from which the parent graduated.

That's why the whole feeder parish thing is about the dumbest idea the public schools ever came up with.

You can live at the Northern-most house in the state of KY in Bellevue over-looking the Ohio river and belong to MQH parish and grade school next door to St. Henry and send your kids there.

All i have to say is that with this HC team continuously getting better they have a solid chance at going to state soon. They have the talent.

I believe Josh Canafax attended Woodland Middle School and probably would have attended Scott if Scott would have had a competitive program. The Canafax's considered both Dixie and CovCath and but decided to send Josh to NCC since from where they live in Taylor Mill NCC is about the same distance as CovCath or Dixie and probably more important Kevin (Josh's Dad) is a NewCath grad. (Class of 83?)
