Heavy rains in Mason County and Bracken County

Featured Replies

Saw where some heavy rains were flooding some ares to our south. Just hoping all of our BGP'ers from that area are high and dry!

Things were definitely crazy here in West Bracken last night, but nowhere near what it was in Maysville, Augusta, and Flemingsburg. All 3 received heavy flood damage. Many boats floating free (reportedly up to 20) in Augusta area. Homes severely damaged in and around Marysville, and Flemingsburg has heavy wind damage.

Read that areas received 6 + inches of rain resulting in numerous emergency rescues. I echo TACs sentiments. Praying for you all.

And unfortunately there is another batch of rain that will push through later.

It was a terrible night. One of the worst I can remember.

It was heavy rain, wind and hail in Brooksville.

If only it had been cold enough. The Brooksville Igloo would be under 3 feet of ice and snow.

The car lot at the bottom of the hill had about twenty cars washed away.

No damage at my house, but I went down to check on my wives grandmothers house and didn't see anything at first. I made my way around to the basement stairs, to find about 8 inches of water outside the door. Thankfully the basement is unfinished and used for storage of Christmas items, hot water heater, furnace, etc. I ended up getting a small pump and getting it pumped out yesterday. They do have a sump pump in the basement but between the power being out and amount of water it made no difference.

She was lucky as when the furnace was installed years ago they set it on blocks just in case this type of thing were to happen.

It's crazy the amount of damage to roads, houses, cars that I saw yesterday.
