Best team in Danville Area

Featured Replies

Mercer Titian "I think the top four are pretty close to each other. I don't think there is a clear cut consensus. I think within the next month when Boyle has it at the level they want that this will be one of the strongest areas in the state. Casey plays hard with the 28 players that they have. Mercer was playing alot of the JV in the second qtr but they did put that nice drive together early in the game. I think Garrard Co is a team that is getting better quickly with them playing so many young kids. They play with no fear and that bolds well for the future. I have always backed the area teams. Danville has always in the past made the area known for football. Lincoln had some very good teams in 90's. Then Boyle came on in the 90's as well and everybody knows the trail they burned through this state. I still to this day think that a couple of those Boyle teams were the best in the state over the Big guys in Louisville. Now Lincoln is back and Boyle is about to get back on track from their murderous schedule and Mercer and Harrodsburg uniting. This area will be stronger then ever. Good luck to everybody as we start district play."

This area is loaded with talent and is probably one of the strongest areas that teams can play with anyone any day of the week. I know there are teams playing with young kids, some with a lot of veterans, but no matter what, Lincoln has been a powerhouse before, Danville is always in the top year in and year out, Boyle is now a Power thanks to Chuck Smith and staff, they are just having a slump with young players and should bounce back with a weak district schedule, and Garrard has had good talent in the past and produces good kids, but they are just so weightroom weak because a lot of these kids play 2-3 sports. Casey has improved since we played them back in the mid-late 90's and they will be ok if they can stay healthy. Merecer right now is in a hot spot, they landed with a good coach in Marty Jaggers and he brought in a wonderful staff and they are uniting in H-Burg.

I'm proud to be from this area and wish all of these area teams the best of luck for the remainder of their season. This is something we all should be proud of and a way to complement this area would be STATE CHAMPS in Class A - Danville, AA - Mercer, AAA - Boyle, and AAAA - Lincoln. I know its not impossible but yet its a long shot to have all of these schools in Louisville the first weekend in December.

I'm experiencing a strong sense of Deja Vu at this moment.

1 Mercer Co.

2 Danville

3 Boyle Co.

3 Lincoln Co.

5 Casey Co.

6 Garrard Co.

I would agree this is true for 'in the press most' rankings. But that's about it. ;)

The chances look pretty good for Danville and Mercer to make it to Louisville.

Boyle has an uphill battle, 3A is pretty stacked.

I think there is no way Lincoln makes it to Louisville. They may make it to the regional title game (by beating Madison Central or GRC) but they don't beat Henry Clay or Scott County.

The talent level is really good in the area this year, BC is much better than there record.

1. Danville (slight edge over Mercer) The Danville passing game makes them a little more dangerous

2.Mercer (great backfield, great defense)

3. Lincoln (slightly over BC, LC has more team speed and on the field experience)

4. BC (one of the toughest schedules in the state)

5. GC/CC (I can't judge Casey, I haven't seen them play. GC is playing a lot of young kids and will improve)

The top four schools in this area could compete anywhere in the state this year. The backfields of (Ford and Jackson) and (Calhoun and Miller) are both dynamite. Macon sp?? the wr for Danville is the most talented player in the area. He will have many big schools recruiting him. UK has already offered, there will be many more.

I know it would be hard for all 4 teams to be in Louisville. I know that Lincoln would have the hardest time making it, then Boyle being so young and 3A pretty much open. I do see the Ads and Titans making it all the way. I would expect a great game between Mercer and Russell again and then a possible match up of Danville and Mayfield again.

The talent pool is awsome in this area. Boyle has the advantage of talent because they have produced so many in the past few years to the college level. I see a lot of big name coaches in this area for the next few years.

1. Danville -- My heart says Mercer but my mind says that Danville's passing game and tradition would be an advantage if these two met in an actual game.

2. Mercer -- Big play speed on offense and solid defense.

3. Boyle -- Good coaching and fundamentals. Don't let the record fool you, they are still a force. They will continue to improve.

4. Lincoln -- Improving but I don't think they're beyond Boyle just yet.

5. Casey

6. Garrard -- Might have been # 5 until Debord got hurt for the season.

6. Garrard -- Might have been # 5 until Debord got hurt for the season.

Quite the contrary...that injury might allow Garrard to move up. Some around the Garrard program and community had been hoping for a quarterback change all season.

Danville :sssh:

Danville :sssh:

Are you just trying to get me to say something??;) :irked:

If you look at the schedule and how close most of the games were, I'd say Boyle County. If you are looking at the record (and I think that's what you want and still looking at how close the games were) I'll have to go in this direction.

1) Mercer

2) Boyle County

3) Danville

4) Lincoln

5) Garrard

6) Casey

Are you serious. Boyle may be better in tradition from the past few years, but this year, they are not one of the best teams as they have had in the past. The beat a half way decent Harrison Co. team, got blown out by Henry Clay, Played Danville, a 1A school close, like all rivals should, then lost to Lafayatte which is playing well this year and then lost to Mercer who has the talent to beat just about anyone on anygiven day. I see Lincoln being better than Boyle at this point in the season, but the district that Boyle plays, not so tough IMO.

I would bet money Mercer would beat Lincoln in a battle, Danville would beat Mercer and Lincoln, and have beaten Boyle this year. Boyle would be Garrard and Casey.

As I rank these teams, Boyle is not as good as Danville, Mercer, Lincoln. All we can do is discuss this until one is blue in the face, but how about Boyle stepping up and playing Lincoln next year instead of dropping out of the contract like they did in the early 90's...... :fight:

I won't pretend to speak for Lincoln County but neither should you. Boyle County spanked us real hard the last few years and until that changes we have no room to speak. We (Lincoln fans) need to quit living in the past and do something in the 2000's.

Oh yeah, that is why we were in that district and made them have a hay day while our program was down.
