Danville 2017

Featured Replies

What does Danville need to do to improve in 2017? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Return everyone except their QB... gonna be a beast to try and take down in the East

I expect Danville to continue to be very good this year. I am assuming Zach Thornton will come in and take over at QB and I believe he is capable of picking up where Zach Dampier left off. That is literally their only question mark and those of us locally who know Zach T. and have watched him grow older know that there won't be much drop off in performance between him and Dampier. Add in Coach Clevenger to the mix and this Danville team is hungry to win a ring this year.

LOADED.

I'll need to see the Ads a few times before I predict anything. QB is the question mark. If they get production at that position, they have title capability.

You haven't seen Zach T. play QB yet? Heck of an athlete. Great head on his shoulders too. They'll get production from the QB position. No doubt in my mind.

Only a few snaps here and there and mostly in blowouts when they weren't really trying to go down field that much.

Ahhh, yeah. He can play. Danville is in good hands. I can see him using his legs more than Dampier but if I am not mistaken a lot of Danville's passing attack consisted of short passes that were of a timing nature. If he can get the ball into the hands of David Walker and D'maurie VanCleeve then the Ads won't lose a beat at all.

I'm looking forward to it. If he adds the dimension of running too, it'll be a great season for the Ads.

The Boyle County/Danville game should be much better than last year's game but I think most people will expect Danville to win that game. After last year's results I think that is what the expectation should be going in to that game. I'll be at that one this year for sure.

Did Danville finalize their schedule? I thought I saw Clevenger posting about needing a 10th game but that was some time back.

Ahh.. vision of the Ole Ads are dancing in my head

I heard D'maurie VanCleave ran a laser timed 4.4 40 this weekend at UK.

I heard they will be playing Louisville Waggener as their 10th game.

ADS will be tough this year. Return 10 starters on D and 9 starters on O. Loss of Dampier and Stanfield huge. Younger players are ready to step up. This will be more of a run based offense I would suspect. The LCA game will be big. Two great RB's going at it with Harris/Wheatley. Will be fun to watch. Boyle game will be fun to watch also. Ads lost in the semi finals two years ago and in the state championship last year. Glad they are back to where ADS football needs to be. Let's win it this year.
