2017 MLB Draft Thread

Featured Replies

Draft is only a week away.

Reds have the #2 overall pick. Also have the #32 & #38 picks.

Feel like Hunter Greene is going to be the pick at #2.

UofL's Brandon McKay is in contention to be the top overall pick and should definitely go top 5.

Louisville high school star Jo Adell is the #21 rated prospect according to MLB.com and has been slotted as high as #9 in recent mock drafts.

Fun fact....Of MLB.com's top 200 draft prospects, UL has the most players represented at 6. Kentucky is tied for 2nd with 4. Good showing for the Bluegrass.

What are the chances that Hunter Greene signs with the Reds if selected at #2? Didn't he come out and say he wants to go to San Diego?

I can't imagine any scenario where he wouldn't sign. He'd be throwing away way too much money.

IF McKay is still available at #2, I think the Reds take him there.

He has said he prefers to go 1 or 3 but not to Cincinnati. Something to do with the philosophy of the organization regarding development.

Ouch

Can't say that I blame him there.

Greene has been trying to Eli his way to San Diego for months. Reds are heavily linked to McKay.

Yeah, I think that's how it ends up.

Interesting tidbit from cbs sports on Greene....He apparently has made it known that he'd prefer to go forward as a SS as opposed to on the mound. Either way, he's a top 5 talent.

Yes. Not a lock, but I feel more confident predicting the @Reds take Greene at 2 than I do predicting any other pick in @MLBDraft 1st rd.

You could take him as a SS and turn him into a pitcher if it doesn't work out in 4 years when he's 22.

Most recent mocks all seem to have the Reds taking Greene.

He's a superstar, best prospect in the game, type talent. Really hope that's the direction they go.
