And since the thread title is a little vague, let me sprinkle in a little more Williamstown and congratulate Jacob Cheesman, the first-year coach of the Roger Bacon Lady Spartans, on his GCL Coach of the Year award, and Joe Finnegan, an assistant on the staff on a highly successful season. Great things are happening in St. Bernard!

Interesting that only 3 region COY are making the trip to Rupp and only 4 region POY will play at Rupp this year.

6th Region Coach of the Year- KC Goodin. KC is a really good coach, but Butler was anything but special this year. I know I may have some bias, but how could anyone beat out James Schooler at Fern Creek in the 6th? 28-2 in regular season and 33-2 now with the first ever trip to State after existing since the 1920's. First Regional Final since 1984 so it is not like this was a traditional powerhouse program. Not putting KC down with this post as he is very deserving, but isn't Coach Schooler more deserving in this special season for that program?

Pretty simple. Not a Member of the KABC. You cant win any KABC awards if your not a member. Its like $100 for ten coaches boys and girls to join. Its $20 for individual coaches to join. The KABC has done a lot to protect the interest of High school basketball. No excuse not to be a member. If hes on the list I apologize he is deserving.
