Harlan County 67 Corbin 65 (13th Region Championship)

Featured Replies

Final per Jamie McCracken.

First ever Sweet 16 berth for the Black Bears.

3rd time was charm. Congrats to Black Bears and coach Jones

Corbin fell behind by 12 in the first half as Andrew Taylor got into foul trouble and missed much of the half. Corbin made a valiant effort at a comeback, but never could get over the hump due to Harlan County shooting 13-16 from the field in the second half.

Congratulations to the Black Bears on their first region title.

Carmichaels are lifelong family friends. Congratulations, guess I'll have to make a trip to Lexington!

Carmichael played very well, hitting several 3's beyond the NBA line. He was named MVP as well.

Congrats to Harlan County! Good luck next week!

Stats from the Harlan Daily Enterprise:

Harlan Co.

FG - 24-38, which includes an incredible 13-16 in the 2nd half

3 pt FG - 7-10

FT - 12-15

Turnovers - 13

Corbin

FG - 24-54

3 pt FG - 10-22

FT - 7-9

Turnovers - 6

Andrew Taylor finished with 23 pts(21 in the 2nd half), 7 rebounds and 5 assists shooting 9-12 from the field and 5-6 on 3 pt. attempts.

81% shooting in the second half is hard for any team to overcome. And still the Bears had to hang on for a nail-biting two-point win. WOW! Carmichael was hitting them from Stephan Curry range.
