Thomas More's 94-game unbeaten streak came to an end Saturday night to Hope College in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament.

The game, played on Thomas More's home court in Crestview Hills, started out well for the Saints, with an early 16-8 lead.

Hope went on a 14-2 run in the second quarter before eventually taking a 36-30 lead in to halftime.

Nikkie Kiernan (Newport Central Catholic) made two free-throws with 3:34 to play to cut the lead to 64-63, but that was as close as TMC would get.

The Saints end the season with a 28-1 record, while Hope improves to 24-4.

Madison Temple (Anderson) led Thomas More with 22 points and eight assists and Abby Owings (Simon Kenton) added 20.

These ladies can play!! Best ticket in town. Tough way to go out but return everyone next season!

This program is the best kept secret in the area. They are sensational and deserve a lot more credit than they get. Hardly get any press or TV coverage until they loose, which is seldom.
