Birds came out on FIRE, but the Jags quickly extinguished it.

 

Highlands had multiple opportunities to get back in it, unfortunately they missed a bazillion gimmes.

 

They did miss quite a few but give Cooper credit! The times Highlands tried to put together a run they had an answer! Also credit #23 Asyah Mitchell for the defensive effort on #13 from Highlands! I believe she did end up with 20, but I bet 10 of them were in the last 4 minutes of the game. She did a great job for 29 minutes guarding her!

Agreed! Her play in the 1st quarter especially was huge. She made some big plays to help keep Cooper in it when number 10 was out in foul trouble. Cooper being able to only being down 2 after the first quarter was a huge turning point.

Congrats Jags, I talked to Coach Ritchie for a few minutes after the game, just want to say her and her husband are not only very good coaches but just classy folks. Best of luck to the seniors, keep rolling Jags. Holy Cross is playing really good, should be a great game.

I don't know all the seniors at Highlands but I will say that you had a heckuva year this year and enjoyed watching you play the time I saw you this year. I am really glad Jenna Martin got the opportunity to finish her senior year there. She's fun to watch and she helped make Highlands, at times, the top team in the region IMO.

 

Good luck girls. You got a bit of bad luck, drawing Cooper in the first round, but it shouldn't take away from the season you had.

Hailey Anderson was huge last night. Lexi Held picked up two fouls in the first minute of the game and had to sit. Cooper could have let the game slip away at that point but Hailey stepped up with 9 points while Lexi was sitting with foul trouble. She gave them a big lift.

FELT like Cooper couldn't miss in the 2nd half and Highlands couldn't get one in.

 

There's only so much one man can do. LOL

 

It's not like the All A State or KHSAA State tourney were they bring you the stats.......or a Newport or Beechwood game were Jimmy Atkins and @statman provide me with halftime and final stats.
