Winning keeps kids/parents happy. Heck, some of the kids will be happy to be on the roster and to get to go to regionals and state every year :)

Sounds like you are quite confident they will win every year.

If Burries isn't at Newport next season they'll still be good and have the talent to make it out of the 36th, But if they lose their leading scorer i think they're no longer a Top 5 team in the 9th next season, which is imo what they would be if returning all their Sophomores and Juniors including Burries.

What about the Pittman kid? Was he a junior this year? Will he contribute next year?

He is a junior this year. I could see him getting a few minutes, the problem is he has Kunkel, McNeil, Runion, and Ollier all in front of him, plus the freshman Centers will possibly step in front of him also but he is a solid player

Confident that as long as Ruthsatz is there, and the program is running as it is currently, they will be in the conversation, and the hunt every year. They are very talented 9-11 right now. That would mean a few good years of bball down the road.

Do you disagree?

Add to the conversation... Who do you like?

I am also seeing comments about Newport, Cooper and a Dixie player.

What team or players would you like throw into the ring?

No I agree they are loaded and have a great program. I just wouldn't crown em already. They still have to play the games but from a talent level they will be strong.

Exactly. They are clearly the preseason "paper champions" for next year, but anything can happen over the course of a season, or a game.

I agree. I didn't want to allude to a crowning of them. I believe Holmes will be tough next year, and Beechwood has more talent coming. But, with the talent, parents and on-lookers see a bright future. It keeps the talent coming.

Has Mike Listerman made a decision on whether he will be returning to coach Holmes next year?

Don't forget about Rico Hollis. There aren't 10 players in the region better than him next year.

Could you or anyone help me understand the benefits of prep school? I always thought it was for that kid who didn't' quite have the grades or offers they would like. I've seen it thrown around a couple times and was hoping someone could help me with this.

Prep school could be for kids who are seniors but are very young.
