The Colonels meet the Colonels in the first round of the 2017 9th Region Tournament. The game will be at BB&T Arena and start at 8:00, 25 minutes after the Newport Central Catholic/Ryle game.

Covington Catholic comes in as the 35th District Champion with a record of (27-5). Covington Catholic hasn't lost a game since their loss to Dunbar on February 11th. They are currently ranked #1 in the 9th Region and #6 in the state in the latest BGP polls.

Dixie Heights comes in as the 34th District Runner-Up with a record of (26-6). Dixie Heights took a 28 point loss to Llyod Memorial in the district finals. They are currently ranked #3 in the region and #17 in state in the latest BGP polls

Previous meeting:

Covington Catholic 56, Dixie Heights 39 (Feb. 7th @ Dixie Heights)

Tell us your predictions and please be constructive:

I am sure everyone expects CCH to win except for the casual Dixie fan. Apparently a couple Dixie players broke some team rules and have been disciplined, to what point I am not sure, but it has definitely impacted the team chemistry as it was evident in the Lloyd game.

Either way, I can guarantee a Colonel victory! ;-)

Old news, move on. Knowing that the kids read this why distract from this game and not the past?

I really think Dixie is going to come out with a purpose to prove. I'm sure Chevy is not ready to start planning retirement anytime soon..

CovCath by 20

CovCath 69

Dixie. 49

It'll be close at Half with Cov Cath up by single digits, then the 2nd Half Cov Cath will take the game over and win by 20. My prediction.

In regard to the rumor. Does anyone remember the more times something is said the bigger the rumor becomes. Just a thought and the rumored kids are just kids and we are supposed to be the adults. Just a thought

But it's so fun for some to put it out there when they have no clue what they are talking about and to stir up trouble right before a big game....

Go Colonels!! Oh I mean Red Colonels!!! :ylsuper:

I'm not exactly sure what happened, though I've heard some things... I personally don't care, but this is a blog. Free to post whatever, and some of it is informative. If the shoe were on the other foot, the "opposers" almost always like to hear/read the information. It's like a trainwreck.

That said, they are kids, and kids do make mistakes (if it was a mistake involved).

I don't know what the rumor is and don't care as it's none of my business, but it doesn't matter either way because Dixie wasn't winning this game anyway. CovCath has the better team...plain and simple.

As for the game, I think the Blue Colonels win by double digits. I believe they are just too strong 1-6, and 7/8 aren't bad either. It's unfortunate since Dixie had such a good year! Maybe they can pull it out and keep rollin'...

It's one and done time. Everyone needs to come to play. Great time for us fans!

Dixie will turn this into a grind it out affair that we be anybody's game going into the 4th quarter.

Dixie hit some early 3's in the first meeting allowing them to dictate pace. Once CovCath hit go ahead 3's in the 3rd quarter, they were able to play at their speed.

Dixie has to keep it slow & close, hoping blue Colonels tighten down the stretch.

I'm calling Dixie will get an "A" for effort, but come up short in the end. 52-45 BLUE .

Playing on a bigger court will present problems for Dixie.
