I am glad to hear Cooper is playing so well at this point in the season.

Cooper is a great team, and they clearly wanted to make a statement tonight.

 

But starters scoring 3 points in the first half? 25 points for the entire game?

 

Crazy.

 

Watch they win their first regional game...

Cooper's defense is playing at a high level right now. Runion and Hendrix may not score a ton of points but what they do on the glass and defensively is fun to watch.

 

Sean McNeil was unconscious tonite! He was absolutely unguardable in the first half making deep 3s with hands in his face. When he gets in that zone watch out. Not sure how many he ended up with but had to be close to 20+.

 

Ryles strategy in the first half to play stall ball didn't work as Cooper just stayed patient and kept playing defense.

IMO... not sure it's that simple.

 

Ryle came out playing very deliberate, not quite a stall but definitely no urgency to attack the rim. There were some possessions that were in the one minute range which resulted in no points, this approach also limited their total possessions in this one. This, combined with Cooper's defense and ability to quickly convert on the other end, made for a very tough night for the Raiders

Cooper is heckava team no doubt. But Ryle's game plan to basically stall the ball and shorten the game did what for them? They still got crushed.

 

I say let the kids come out and shoot and let the chips fall where they fall. I rather get beat by 30 knowing I was playing basketball and not doing that stupid keep away game. Just IMO

Looks like Cooper will play either Newport, Dixie, or Holy Cross. Definitely think that Holy Cross is best case scenario, no knock on them, best opening game for Cooper. Then a second round matchup with NewCath or Lloyd hopefully, we will see tomorrow morning I suppose!
