I love the fact they are going with 2 youngsters in the rotation and keeping 2 in the pen. I'm sure we will see a lot of flopping between the rotation, pen and AAA between Davis, Garrett, Reed, Stephenson and Romano. I'm really looking forward to seeing the young guys pitch and hopefully improve as the season goes along.

I just hope they are ready for it. Having them come up and watching them get tattooed like a pimple on Latos's back isnt good for anyone.

They should be able to control any service time issues doing it this way.

I assume that's priority #1A , and #1B is the innings limits.

I think you could see some games where they go 4 innings with a starter, 3 with a reliever and 2 with Iglesias or Lorenzon to close.

Who?

We definitely need a program to keep up with who is who on this team especially the pitching staff.

Or you could just try being a fan.

Probably won't need a close very often.

And there it is. The shot that or degrading comment that you just have to make in every Reds thread. You just can't help yourself. I honestly don't know what you enjoy more. Cheering for your Red Sox or taking shots at the Reds. 1975 was a long time ago man. Get over it already.

Is my statement incorrect? Using those 2 guys in a set up and closer role is probably not going to do much to help their development given their likely record. The only part of the Reds rebuild that I've been very critical of is that I don't think that they have the position player prospects that they need to compete.

Yes I think it's absolutely incorrect. I think there will be plenty of times they need a closer. Now it won't be as many times as the Cubs, Nationals or any of the other top teams, but to say they won't need a closer very often is an incorrect statement.
