After tonight you can put to rest the Grimm - Thomas debate. Thomas wasn't even the best back on his team, Davis was. Thomas wanted no part of JC's defense. The coaching staff quit giving him the ball. Grimm on the other hand was hit harder tonight than any other game this year and he kept bringing it to the Tomcats. Unless Mason has someone better he is hands down the best in the district. I'm hoping to get to see Miller from Rock

I dont know the exact stats for either back tonight but I was trying to keep a mental track. I'm going to guess that Grim had close to 300 yards while I am wondering if Thomas had positive yards at all tonight. He was downed deep in the backfield several times. I wouldn't be surprised to see him with negative yards for the game.

 

Maybe someone that listened to a radio broadcast can give us exact numbers.

Grimm had 22 carries for 288 yards. I think Thomas ended the night with positive yardage but can't promise (they had 29 yards in the first quarter, not much in the second, and as others said Fields Davis was the workhorse after Thomas started hitting the hole facing backwards).

Grim had a 25 yarder called back because of a penalty that would have given him over 300 yards.

 

You'll not hear anything out of GIAT because now it appears that GIAE.

He has had some outstanding #'s the past few weeks. He and Shawn Grimm have to be the top 2 backs in this Region. After watching Thomas of Ashland last week in person I was not impressed at all and the JC defense should have a lot of TFL on him.

After seeing him tonight, Sean Grimm definitely gets my vote. The kid may be small in stature, but he hits the holes quick, breaks tackles, and then out runs everybody. He is one tough kid.

Dusty Miller has 1827 yards, averaging right at 203 yards per game this season with 23 touchdowns. It would be a great matchup indeed.

THe Ashland Daily Independent had Grim at 22 carries for 303 yards, Thomas 11 carries for 18 yards.

So is Miller. They are pretty much in a dead heat at this point IMO. Two great backs that hopefully will get an opportunity to go head to head in a few weeks and see which one gets to represent Region 4 against the NKY bunch.

The actual numbers for each coming into last night had Miller slightly above Grim.

 

Miller: 1,656 yards with an 207.0 per game average

 

Grim: 1,468 yards with an 183.5 per game average.

Grimm did have a excellent night against Ashland but Miller from Rock has put up some huge #'s against good teams like Clay Co. and Bell Co. I agree with Samham that it is a great comparison and these 2 are right on the same level right now. Im just glad to have Shawn Grimm on my team.
