Garrard County 74 Casey County 67

Featured Replies

Golden Lions dominated the first half, taking a 39-26 lead into the break. Casey erased the entire lead in the third quarter, knotting it at 51. The Rebels would extend the margin to six with just under three minutes to play before a furious closing run by Garrard clinched the home court victory.

Garrard was led by Justin Preston with 22 and Parker Dailey with 21. I didn't get stats for Casey but Jake Smith had a very solid night.

Garrard is improving and capable of winning a game in the district tournament.

I feel like Casey has had a disappointing season to this point

I agree with you about Garrard. Coach Young has them playing the way you want around tournament time. Do you think that Casey came out flat after beating Southwestern?

I'm not sure but they have lost a few head scratchers. I guess they have won a few too though. I expected them to finish above .500 this season and they are 9-17.

I'm not sure if it was flat. They didn't play much defense in the first half but did pick up the intensity after halftime when they went to a bit of full court pressure that caused Garrard to hurry (and thus commit turnovers). Garrard adjusted to the defense and was much stronger with the ball in the fourth quarter.

I didn't notice much depth for Casey County. They have a couple kids who can really score and then a couple more that provide the intangibles. I didn't see much support from the bench.

Gerrard is the team no one wants to play in the 45th District Tourney

How do the matchups look for the district tournament?

Is it Burgin vs. Garrard and the winner plays Lincoln; then Danville vs. Boyle?

Garrard would love that too....For that would mean they are in the finals.
