Democrats have no power

Several contributing factors there and way too simplistic to say it all hangs on Obama ( well...Bush).
I realize that one must dig deep into the weeds to hold Obama unaccountable for the mess that he has left this country in. Simple economic statistics are just inadequate to describe the great work Obama has done. :lol2:

Your dude is up to bat, so let's watch what he can do. You are most likely to be pleased.

Wait a minute. I have power. I decide my own future. I make my own decisions with my finances and other stuff. I always have been. Who is in Washington does not affect me, never has. I adjust.

Wouldn't you say our economy is strong, but it isn't strong for all?
No. Our economy is not strong at all. Economies are not measured by anecdotal evidence. Some people, George Soros, for example, find ways to personally profit from other people's misery even when a country's economy collapses. But the fact that some people do very well for themselves says nothing about the general state of the economy.

I won't be pleased unless he implements policies that improve the lousy business climate in this country. Trump is what I consider a crony capitalist. He admits that some of his success was his ability to buy influence with Washington politicians through political donations. If all he does is perpetrate that corrupt system, which is what Hillary Clinton would have done, then I will be among Trump's harshest critics.

Trump has an opportunity to oversee the strongest economic recovery since the Reagan days. I hope that he takes advantage of that opportunity, but I won't be shocked to see him blow it. Color me cautiously optimistic.

Cruz was 'my dude." I voted for Trump out of desperation. There is no way Hillary Clinton should be a free woman. At the very least, she should be on trial.

Reality. More working age adults are not in the work force in the history of the republic. That's a fact.

Serious question.

Is that because there are more working age adults now than at any time in the history of the republic?

More automation than in the history in the republic?

More automation than in the history in the republic?

There is that, too. Tough to look at simple statistics in a vacuum.

All I'm saying is that if there are more working age adults out of work, a big part of the reason just might be that there are more working adults, period.:thumb:

That is a factor but the labor participation rate was 65.7% in January 2009. The rate for last month had dropped to 62.9%. Obviously, the percent of working aged people in the workforce should drop in a recession and rise during a recovery. That did not happen during Obama's presidency.
