Sarcasm? As in "the real championship was played yesterday? Because the bracket shows Monday night championship, just like always. Is the JV championship being played right before? If so, who is playing in that championship game?

I'm referring to when they played Cooper

Okay. I am not that familiar with the 2020 boys classes; was Cooper the second best team?

As a follow up, did Cooper beat Dixie? Dixie only lost 2 all year, I am told, so I assume it was to CovCath and Cooper?

I think someone mentioned they lost to Beechwood as well.

I'm just saying when I saw the bracket imo I thought who ever won the Cooper/Beechwood game to play Cov Cath that would be the best two teams in the tournament playing each other. So I considered that the championship

Beechwood beat Cooper twice and lost in OT in the frosh tournament..

Beechwood beat Cooper twice and lost in OT in the frosh tournament..

That is correct

The funny thing Beechwood plays 4 eighth graders and 2 or 3 started most of the season.. Beechwood's frosh for next year will be very good!!

They were the best 3 teams in the tournament

Not trying to say that one team is better than another but NCC Freshmen beat Beechwood by (I think) double digits about a month ago and then lost to them by only a few a couple weeks later. Would be be really tough to seed especially when some coaches are playing everyone and others are playing only the top 7. Add to that the flexibility in rosters where some kids are moved up to JV and others are moved down from JV and it's hard to say which teams are the best and in which order. Granted the Cov Cath freshmen team is heads above everyone else and at most other schools, several of them would be playing strictly JV and Varsity but after that you can throw the names in a hat and anyone can beat anyone else on a given day. I think the chance to play for a Freshmen or JV Championship is pretty cool and if you draw a good team early, you better be ready to play!

Indeed the JV Championship game will be played prior to the Jack Kaelin Championship game. That game pits CovCath JV vs. Dixie JV with the jump ball at 6 pm.

U can't throw the rest in a hat there r clearly teams better than others.

I haven't seen one coach play all there players in tight games one time this year. Not gonna happen.

It would be almost impossible to seed Varsity teams in a tournament like this, let alone Freshmen. Teams that don't play each other, teams from other regions and like I mentioned before, rosters that are changing depending on JV needs. Enjoy it for what it is and if you want to set up a seeded tournament, go for it.

Also, I haven't seen that many games this year but I do know that NCC's coach has played 10-12 deep in most games this year, regardless of the score. Might have gotten them a few more losses than they should have had but developing players and keeping them around might have been his focus.
