Addictions: What is the Toughest One For You to Manage???

Featured Replies

Too much diet coke or diet Ale 8 is my issue.

I stopped drinking coffee about 20 years ago.

Stopped drinking alcoholic beverages 8 years ago.

Stopped smoking in 1972 during my first year of college. Smoked throughout high school. Marboro, 25 cents per pack in those days.

I had no idea....may have to make a run to Winchester

I'd have to say that my wife is my greatest addiction. I can't manage her, I can only hope to contain her.

Bru...

Addictions are based in the pleasure centers of the brain....dopamine is key.

Chances are, if you like the dopamine hit, you will find multiple ways to get it firing.

I can manage all of my addictions pretty well. What they are is nunya though.

Unfortunate.

I'm willing to bet that half of the posters and all of the readers in this thread were hoping you were going to spill it....

Hate it that you treat us loyal followers in this manner...

Hold on while I set up my paypal. Now, for the low, low price of $24.99....

I really like diet Ale 8, but most hard core Ale 8 drinkers don't for some reason.

It probably really is for me too. I have to constantly look back throughout the day. And I'm not even one that argues with people quite a bit on here. I don't know how those posters do it. I'd want to see if someone responded every 2 minutes.

Food.

Not trying to downplay the seriousness of alcoholism, but by comparison you don't need booze to survive, so if you can manage to put it down you hopefully have got it licked, however food is something that we all need to survive, so everyday is a challenge to know when enough is enough.

You're constantly day after day out of necessity having to revisit the stimulus of food, yet what you need to stay alive can also kill you. You can't just avoid it to get it under control because starving yourself is a bad idea too.

Getting to a point where you can view food as fuel and something that should be done with balance is very doable, yet sometimes falling off that wagon is just one moist decadent chocolate brownie away.

I definitely can relate.

"I'm addicted to placebos. I'd quit, but I don't think it would make any difference."

My wife wishes i got addicted to completing projects on our home...:)

Tell her you said you would get to it, she doesn't need to remind you every 6 months!
