Russell 63 Morgan County 13

Congrats to Morgan County for Playing untill the end and never giving up.:thumb:

Sat on Morgan side , they have almost as many hurt as in the game ... Morgan played hard ....

Why was Jacob Sizemore on the sidelines with crutches?

Congratulations Devils. Jones had an excellent game throwing the ball several passes were very well thrown. Good job. It was good to see Lewis and beekman having good games. The line appeared to be blocking well and were moving people off the ball. Defense is still suspect. I think we need some work in that area but they seem to be coming around. Second team looked good again.

I'm not sure what is going on with Sizemore but I do know he appeared to get hurt in last weeks game. How bad is unknown. I'm sure we will find out soon.

Thanks for a great evening Red Devils.

Morgan is just descimated by injuries right now. To make it worse their starting QB was injured in the 1st half.

Russell could score at will against Morgan but seemed to be a little relaxed on defense. I know it was a blowout and was expected to be, but I think this team needs to play with a little more emotion and not just go through the motions. Even in a game like this.

Jacob has a blood clot in his left leg. He'll be out 2-4 weeks. It's not in his veins which is really good, it's in his muscle which causes it to swell a great deal and also causes a great deal of pain. It has been hurting him all week so he went to the DR today and he said he'd be out 2-4 weeks but Jacob thinks he'll be back next week. So we'll see.

Congrats Russell. The night in Flatwoods was as expected. Dinner at O'Charley's was wonderful. The server was very attentive and was able to meet some locals. The ballgame was the ballgame. Hopefully the boys will heal. Russell you have a wonderful program, facilities, and most of all people.

Any stats?

None as of yet but I should have some from the paper in a couple hours.

Any stats?

Kasey Clark

10 rushes 150 yards 4 TDs in the 1st half. Played one series in the second half but did not carry the ball. Also 40 or 50 yards recieving.

Marcus Frazier caught 2 TD passes and Tyler Jones looked pretty good throwing the ball. I think about 140 yards passing.

This comes as no surprise. Russell enters their cruise control part of their schedule.

Congrats to Russell on the win as expected. Too much athleticism and team speed, very obvious in the open field.

I thought Morgan played as hard as they could possibly play. I was very proud of all the players who played. Their 2nd drive of the game was one of the guttiest performances I've seen in a while. Injured QB John Robert Henderson started because the Freshman backup Kyle Havens was injured...they had no choice...he battled down field and scored making the game 7-6 early in the 1st. However on the play Henderson scored, he reinjured himself...he battled another series but it was best to get him out and hope for a return in the Cougars most important game next week.

Also injured BUT played was Clay Adkins who was also reinjured.

Here is the list of the following athletes who are in the M*A*S*H unit

Andy Fannin--QB--Rotator Cuff surgery (Done before season started)

Logan May--QB--Illness (Done after 1st game)

Ryan Buckler--C--Illness that caused some heart ailments; got better; hurt shoulder--is week to week

Brandon Ward--FB--promising Sophomore and LB (Shoulder)---Doubtful

Derrick Young--FB--1,000+rushes last season, leg, shoulder and possible hernia--out indefinitely, should be re-evaluated this week

Wes Montgomery--Slot/CS--Cougars most athletic playmaker; leg injury vs. Mason....should be back by West Carter

Clay Adkins--Tackle, backup Center to Buckler and DE---Achilles--Treatments from P.T. this week should get him ready to go for Sorghum Bowl

Jonathan Lopez--Sophomore Corner/Punter--Broke hand on Monday of this past week

The Cougars have had a WHOPPING 8 quarterbacks take a snap since last season. I though Steven McNeil who filled in a QB for the first time in his entire life...first snap he ever took at any level of football did very well. A hard nosed player and athlete will help.

Hats off to Sophomore FB Jacob Flack who rushed for 75 yards last night...ran very hard. Tim Foley was also impressive at key spots for the Cougars. The Cougars are hanging by a thread....just hope they can somehow get a few back for West Carter.

Best wishes to Russell the rest of the way!!!
