January 27, 20179 yr They don't do mammograms either.. Correct. They offer breast exams. They offer referrals for mammograms.
January 27, 20179 yr Author A bit misleading which often happens in "gotcha" videos. Does Planned Parenthood Provide No Prenatal Care, Only Abortions? : snopes.com So the basis of Snopes calling this "mostly false" is that Planned Parenthood has never claimed to provide prenatal care at all of their centers.
January 27, 20179 yr I'm going to ask the same question here that I asked in my thread in the politics forum. If abortion is what makes PP objectionable to people, and if abortion is just a small percentage of services they provide why can't they stop doing them and just provide their other services? Then everybody's happy.

Maybe they should consider a name change.

Maybe they should consider a name change. Actually, you are incorrect. I'd provide links and other info, but you wouldn't bother to read. I personally have used PP services that were NOT abortion services, over the course of my lifetime.
January 29, 20179 yr So why would they offer abortions and not mammograms or prenatal services? Seems they may be interested in only one outcome for pregnancy and not really interested in helping women with breast cancer.

Seems they may be interested in only one outcome for pregnancy and not really interested in helping women with breast cancer. My current gynecologist does not do mammograms in their office. I go to thr hospital radiology department to have that done. My current gynecologist as does not do obstetrics. I would be referred to an OB for such services. Planned Parenthood offers most of the same services one would find in a private gynecologist's office and refers patients to other services they don't provide. You can get a pregnancy test, pap smear, STD tests, birth control counseling and prescription, vaccinations....get treatment for UTIs, yeast infections, menopause, endometriosis, PCOS, Do people really believe women's health care is only breast cancer and pregnancy? And, PP also provides some services to men.

My wife's gyno office has OB services. As the husband of a 26 year RN and myself a retired Paramedic (25 years). I am very familiar with healthcare issues that face women and men both.

And Planned Parenthood is women's health care and reproductive planning. As your experience must surely have taught you, it is very expensive, obstetrics as a practice. Once one becomes pregnant, it is a different care that is needed than basic woman's health and birth control. The point of PP's inception was to provide women with the ability to plan their pregnancies by providing them access to birth control options. They've never purported to be in the business of obstetrics.
