January 20, 20179 yr I defend him less then the people on here that claim they didn't vote for Obama defended him. But, if you want to call pointing out what you and others did 8 years ago by saying give him a chance to see what he can do, then I guess I'm guilty. And, make no mistake about it, I'm GLAD he won, I sure didn't want Hillary and the continuation of Obama's failed policies. Yes, there are different levels, but if you're not rich, then rich is rich is rich. It's really that simple. You're just doing what those on the left love to do, pushing class envy. That was the entire battle cry when Romney ran. It's the same tired battle cry now. Oh please! Every time someone disagreed with Obama they were labeled racist. You do watch the news, don't you? And people on here defended that mindset. Nah. It's a much different battle cry right now. Much much different. No. I don't watch the news. I get my news from BGP. Have been for years. So no, I don't see people calling you a racist when you disagree with Obama. I see people say questionable things and then get called to the carpet on it and there have been plenty of racially motivated posts about Obama in social media. That has happened. Our great state of KY elected an official who made racist posts about Obama so while YOU may not be racist when you disagree with Obama there are still plenty that are and it is still absurdly partisan to suggest otherwise.
January 20, 20179 yr The Obamas are well on there way to becoming billionaires. That is awesome. Hopefully the President will buy a pro sports team.
January 20, 20179 yr What is interesting is that although DJT has won and will ascend the throne today, those who voted for him are still focused most heavily on tearing down BHO. Why is that? Guessing it's the same reason BO and his supporters spent all of his 8 years in office criticizing and blaming George Bush for everything from the cost of milk to climate change?? :idunno: Hopefully Trump won't continue this annoying trait?
January 20, 20179 yr BTW, I don't begrudge the Obama's a dime....congratulations to them and best of luck in future endeavors. I still believe Jimmy Carter was our worst President. George Jr was worse.
January 20, 20179 yr And those that didn't vote for president Trump are still doing what? I was not an Obama fan, I didn't whine when he won. I didn't vote for him to be re elected as I was not impressed with his first 4 years. I'll give Trump a chance to see what he can do, much like I gave Obama. No ill wishes towards former president Obama. I love this country and our privilege and right to vote. With that responsibility comes your duty to respect your new chief. I did it 8 years ago and I'll do it starting today. I'll have my say in 4 years. I am respecting DJT, and I will only criticize when I feel there is something worth the effort. I haven't said one damn thing about Bush in years. I just am royally pwe've ant all these posters who have spent the last 8 years urinating and moaning about every damn move by BHO, and whining they are misunderstood and not represented and discriminated against. You have won. You are in power. Are we going to have to listen to this crap forever? It's like these people just want to 1) be miserable and 2) remind everyone that doesn't agree with them that it is their fault and 3) avoid talking about the present and future because that should be their happy place...it's like they want to stay miserable. What hell?! I just can't imagine living life with no optimism!

I didn't say me, I basically said anyone. Sure some people are racist toward Obama, much like people that beat others for wearing a Trump hat or having a Trump bumper sticker. When it comes to me, I don't care what others see, I know myself and am very comfortable with who I am. Trump should be given a chance. When he screws up he sould be called on it. If I don't like what he does, I'll complain.

What hell?! I just can't imagine living life with no optimism! Not claiming you are disprecting your new president. But I never saw one person claim Obama was not their president? And I'm not sure how many republicans sat out the inaugural celebrations when he was elected. Didn't like some of Obamas policies, but wouldn't call him the worst president ever. I personally thrived under his reign. I wish others would have taken the initiative to do the same rather than wait for someone to give them something.
January 21, 20179 yr Not claiming you are disprecting your new president. But I never saw one person claim Obama was not their president? And I'm not sure how many republicans sat out the inaugural celebrations when he was elected.Snowflakes melting at a rapid pace. "Not my president". "I hope he fails". "I won't go to his inauguration". Those are the only ones I can post on here, the rest are vile. I should have sold frolicking puppy videos and coloring books, I'd be rich.

What hell?! I just can't imagine living life with no optimism! You must be talking about the "protesters" or whatever you want to call those buffoons rioting and burning stuff in the streets in the name of protest? There is such optimism on the DT side that I've not seen in quite a while--Myself included!! Companies are excited about the future again with the possibility of the handcuffs of liberal political hacks being off their hands, and in my travels since the Holidays, it's refreshing to hear optimism again vs. the last 8 years of stagnation & snail like growth since the recession has ended. I know that The View, Rosey, Alex, Gwenith, etc. aren't seeing the love; but the guy on the street is thinking there's a chance for return to the old America.

A return to the "old America"? What is that again? Tell me about that utopian America.
January 21, 20179 yr Only thing wrong is the disdain for Trump (or any rich conservative) while the same people guilty of the hate shrug of Obama's wealth (or any liberal)... I have zero issue with Trump's wealth. I do however see a lot of potential conflicts with his business holdings. Those aren't the same. I also don't have an issue with Obama getting rich on the speaking circuit.

I also don't have an issue with Obama getting rich on the speaking circuit. I have no problem with your view here. Concerns over potential conflicts with business holdings are legit for any president. I have zero problems with the wealth of Obama or Trump. Many people suffer from class envy (I certainly don't think you do), I don't fall into that trap. Never did.

I'm hearing the same thing you are out there. I'm optimistic as well, but cautiously. I hope Trump holds true to many of his promises, but the Dems will fight him tooth and nail on everything. I don't know if he can deliver on some things, even without push back from the left. We will see. I do think the future, as of now, looks much brighter than it has over the last 8 years. A friend said to me last night that she feels like "freedom is being restored to America", so I know she is extremely optimistic.
