Mason County Loses Key Player

Featured Replies

Yes. That helps. I got scared for a second. Without disclosing the injuries will Perkins and Kumler be back this season or are they season ending injuries? Big fan of Perkins. I think his best basketball is yet to come.

Likely that Kumler is back soon.

Perkins should be after that. Not sure on timeline

It doesn't matter if he would be allowed back or not, because he unfortunately has no desire to play. He's a kid and yep he's most definitely made mistakes. Selfish player...i don't think so. What kills me is that we're supposed to be the adults and yet what I'm seeing is a hunch of hate and trash talk about a kid and we wonder why they act the way they do.

If Mason Co was to allow this it would be sending the wrong message to all the kids involved.

Didn't the same player quit at some point last season or over the summer and was allowed to rejoin the team in the fall? If so this would be the second time.

Nope he sure didn't

Other adults are not to blame.

If tweets were the issue then the parents are culpable. I would know if my child made such tweets. Said tweets would be deleted.

The tweets are not the reason he quit but I agree 100 percent and as soon as I learned of the tweets, they were deleted but had already been copied and shared

I'm in no way trying to blame anyone for his actions, was merely saying that I expect more from adults than to be bashing a kid

It is a problem with anonymous posting.

I just think it's sad. I have love for every kid on that team and if they were making poor choice and messing up, I'd be trying to see if there were something I could do to help, I wouldn't be bashing them.

Cannot disagree with you; but, at the same time young people have to understand that their actions have consequences. Sure hope he understands that some of the consequences are going to be spoken and unspoken. Whichever, only he can choose if it defines him for life. It is going to be a tough climb and first and foremost has to be a series of heartfelt apologies. Apologies for the actions....not, just for getting caught.

Absolutely

I wish the kid nothing but the best and hope he learns from this. On a side note I'm very glad social media didn't exist when I was in high school, and if some of the people that are bashing this young man think back to there younger days I'm sure none of us where angels..

This young man is on twitter again and if I'm Buddy Biggs I would now allow him back. Said he wants to play Leevi Dunaway 1v1 and prove he's better. Saying he played JV in 8th grade so he has to better. If he took 22 shots a game he'd score 29 too. Also that they are 1-6 without him and responding to people saying that Buddy Biggs is a bad coach (which IMO is one of the best in the region). Do NOT let him back on your team, Mason County.
