Middlesboro dropped Bell Co. (biggest rival who they couldn't beat) and plays Lynn Camp, Pineville, and Harlan (Class A) in Ky and Lee Co. (horrible every year in Va) in the nondistrict games in an effort to pad their record. And gets to play Cawood, Knott Co. Central, and Corbin...

 

Record will look much better than the team...long way to go to beat a decent 2A team in KY...won't happen this year IMO...

 

Bell County is not Middlesboro biggest rival. I am sure Bell County would like to think they are. Good Luck to both teams

So you think that Corbin is the same quality of team as Cawood & Knott Central?

 

I expect Middlesboro to at the least be playing for the regional title this year and should be ranked anywhere from #5-8 right now.

:lol: So your saying Middlesboro can be competitive with Bell Co., and since they know that, they feel the need not to play them. Strength of schedule means alot, and besides the knoxville team, middlesboro's isnt that strong. Playing a team like Bell can make a team stronger, Middlesboro should recognize that and take advantage of having such a great program as a neighbor.

If one team is seeded higher than the other, they will host. So if the #1 seed from D7 plays the #2 seed from D8, then the D7 team would host.

 

But the even numbered district will host if both teams are seeded the same. If the #1 seeds from each district advance, then the D8 team would host this year because it is an even numbered year.

 

 

If Belfry wins their district, then they would have home field advantange until the finals, just like in 2004. :thumb:

I was thinking it was that way this year, but was uncertain since all of thse changes have taken place lately..

Everything is the same unless you happen to be in one of those regions that swapped around. Then it is different. Luckily we aren't and have our fate in our own hands.

Shouldn't have put Corbin in there. Middlesboro is still overrated until they beat someone, IMO...

I look for Middlesboro to do well this year, but IMO, a trip to the carpet at Papa Johns is a little much. To many good teams in the playoffs they'd have to beat.

But you never know...

So are you saying Lynn Camp is an easy team to play? i think they could beat a few of the Class 2a teams fairly easy
