Well you have to be a year removed from high school. If he didnt graduate in December then he would have to wait til the spring and that would mean no Draft next year. But if he graduated in december and played a semester of college ball then he may be able to get around the rule and get in the draft next year. Its all about trying to get around the rules.

I'm not sure on the ruling, but didn't the state of Ohio say his graduating class was last year? Meaning he could enter next years class no matter what he does this year. It was already stated but he has no worries at all about using years of eligibility.

Here are some;

1. Freshman forever (deeper meaning)

2. 2nd Fiddle

3. Flight Risk (my favorite)

4. Yard Sale (cause you never know who'll take him)

I vote for Flight Risk. That is funny. I bet Richard P will have a name. We may want to copywrite a couple just to make sure we get out share.

Possibly for exposure? More TV time in college.
But if he just dropped in in December, with no team practice, Huggy wouldn't play him. It would be stupid to try to.

If you have to be a year removed from High School, then graduating in December still doesn't help, if the draft is in the summer...

:lol: Yeah right. If he's eligible, he'll play. And most likely a lot...

I really think it would be a bad idea for Huggy's team. I know Walker is a great talent, but it would mess up chemistry (and not just for this year) create a (greater) sense of entitlement for Walker, and not help to win games IMO. No offensive or defensive practice at all and you throw Walker in? It would just be a bad move. Now, MAYBE by the Big XII tourny he can play more than a few minutes a game, but before then you are asking for trouble.

Have you seen the roster? He'll play right away. It might end up going sour, but that's what Huggs will do IMO...

Trust. Walker and Huggins both are working as hard as possible, (Walker especially) to get Bill in there by next semester. If this looks like as good of a possibility as it seems to be, I'm sure Walker is already sitting on a nice little K-State playbook while someone else is getting his work ready to pass his graduation competency and getting him ready for his SAT and NCAA's. So I'm sure K'States Offense and Defense is the last thing Huggins is worried about when he has a bench full of scrubs that could use an overhaul.:thumb:

Aren't there core class requirements as well as GPA and SAT requirements?

There never was at UC!!:sssh: ;)

I understand that but its just another way to try an tweak the rules, and playing a half a season or whatever of college ball is another way of him trying to get around the rules.

Look, there is no special clause in the rules that state that playing half a season of college ball equals six months off the are requirement. He would have a much better shot with arguing that his ORIGINAL high school class graduated more than a year before the draft. Going to KSU does nothing on the age requirement.

Since Walker can't play High School Ball this season maybe he is going to try and play 1/2 season in college instead of just sitting out a season. He may not even be thinking about the next draft. He may be looking at playing 1 1/2 seasons at the College level to boost his draft status in 08.
