January 3, 20179 yr @JonRothstein 4m4 minutes ago: South Florida has fired Orlando Antigua, per release. Murray Bartow is named interim head coach.
January 3, 20179 yr Author I hate firings in the middle of the season. Agreed. Seems a little odd that its right at the start of conference play.
January 3, 20179 yr Has he really done that bad of a job? I'm really surprised by this, am I missing something?
January 3, 20179 yr Has he really done that bad of a job? I'm really surprised by this, am I missing something? He went 23-55 overall (that's less than a .300 winning percentage) and 7-30 in the AAC.
January 3, 20179 yr 23-55 in is tenure and under an academic fraud investigation? I'd say his time there hasn't been too rosy.
January 3, 20179 yr Author Has he really done that bad of a job? I'm really surprised by this, am I missing something? Probably the academic fraud investigation.
January 3, 20179 yr Thank's guys. I hadn't really followed them or him much recently. Didn't realize the situation.
January 3, 20179 yr Will Antigua be brought back to UK? Or can they not do that due to the academic investigation at USF?
January 3, 20179 yr Probably the academic fraud investigation. Whats the problem? Hasn't affected North Carolina or it's coaches (said tongue in cheek).
January 3, 20179 yr Jamal McMurray transferred last week. I can only speculate as to whether that contributed to the firing, but quite a few players have left the program since COA took the helm. I really liked Coach O and feel bad for him.
January 3, 20179 yr If it had been for the NCAA investigation, USF would have just case for firing Antigua and would not have to pay his buyout. My understanding is that they are paying his buyout.
