Walton Verona 62 Holmes 47

Not terribly shocked by this. Maybe a little by the final score. WV looked pretty good in their 5 point win over Conner Saturday in the John Turner Classic @ Newport. The drawback was them having trouble from the line late to put the Cougars away. The Jones kid for the Bearcats is a good spot up 3 point shooter. I'll guess that he had a healthy share against the Bulldogs.

Walton played very good and very well coached. Correct on Green, and Hollis did not play the first half, played the second and had 9 points and fouled out. Speaking of fouls, and please no one take this wrong, not saying a word about the officials, Walton was 30 of 36 from the line, nice shooting, Holmes was 3 of 9, they sure struggle from the line. The young man in middle, number 42 I think must be 7'9", just kidding , but he is very tall and had a great touch from the line, Walton has a nice team, LJ Miller once again led Holmes with 14, Holmes did take a one point lead at some point in the 3 rd quarter, but just never seemed to get make a big bucket when needed. Walton should make some noise in the 8 th.

Not having Greene's presence had to hurt, he does a great job of attacking the basket at both ends.

That is CRAZY good free throw shooting!!!!!.....and also a HUGE discrepancy.

Never caught his name but you're right about his nice touch from the line. Very poised and collects himself well before letting it fly. Good to hear that they went 30-36 from the line. Guessing that the coach made them practice extra long after Saturday and emphasized how they let the Cougars hang around too long when they could've just put them away from the line.
