Cousin Sal Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Walton is coming on strong. They could very well contend this year in the 8th, or at least make some noise.
Lawnboy13 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I'm told the Dawgs were without Greene due to a one game suspension and Hollis was suspended for the 1st quarter or half.
B-Ball-fan Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Not terribly shocked by this. Maybe a little by the final score. WV looked pretty good in their 5 point win over Conner Saturday in the John Turner Classic @ Newport. The drawback was them having trouble from the line late to put the Cougars away. The Jones kid for the Bearcats is a good spot up 3 point shooter. I'll guess that he had a healthy share against the Bulldogs.
allsport71 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Walton played very good and very well coached. Correct on Green, and Hollis did not play the first half, played the second and had 9 points and fouled out. Speaking of fouls, and please no one take this wrong, not saying a word about the officials, Walton was 30 of 36 from the line, nice shooting, Holmes was 3 of 9, they sure struggle from the line. The young man in middle, number 42 I think must be 7'9", just kidding , but he is very tall and had a great touch from the line, Walton has a nice team, LJ Miller once again led Holmes with 14, Holmes did take a one point lead at some point in the 3 rd quarter, but just never seemed to get make a big bucket when needed. Walton should make some noise in the 8 th.
Blue42too Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Jones scored 2 or 4 and handled the ball like a champ. He's a solid team player with a bright future.

That is CRAZY good free throw shooting!!!!!.....and also a HUGE discrepancy.

Good to hear that they went 30-36 from the line. Guessing that the coach made them practice extra long after Saturday and emphasized how they let the Cougars hang around too long when they could've just put them away from the line.
Big Crazy Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Congrats to the Bearcats. Another impressive win. Good luck in the remainder of your season. Hoping the 2 from Holmes get back to full games played. Definitely difference makers.
UK#1fanisback Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Walton's center is 6'7 Miles he is only a Sophomore.

98NCCalum Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 Walton didn't make a 3 the whole game.
B-Ball-fan Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Walton didn't make a 3 the whole game. And had very balanced scoring too in a nice team effort.
Hands & Feet Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I haven't seen the official stats, but I believe Miles had a triple double last night!
