Was at a Little League baseball game. I usually park in the same spot whenever I go to that ballpark. On this occasion, the lot was full and I had to park in another location. After the game, I left to get in the car and couldn't find it. I look for ten minutes, getting more and more nervous with each passing minute. I was becoming convinced someone had swiped my car. Finally, I spotted it... or so I thought. Bizarrely, the door was ajar. I opened the door the rest of the way and started to get in when it hit me...this is NOT my car! Identical make and model vehicle, identical color, same vehicle, just not mine. I quickly removed myself from the vicinity of the vehicle, fearing that the owner would notify the cops. I'm sure I had already looked suspicious, aimlessly wandering the lot for the past ten or fifteen minutes and then trying to enter a car that wasn't mine. Well, to make a long story short, I finally remembered having to park in a location different from my usual spot. I found my car and proceeded to drive home, only to hear a knock at the door a few minutes later. Yep, it was the cops. Someone had seen my odd behavior and notified a cop who was at the game. He followed me home and I had to explain that I wasn't suffering from dementia , nor was I into grand larceny. So, yes, I have parked in the wrong spot before. Hopefully, never will again.

Can't tell you how many times this happens at Cvg airport, many times it's even the flight crew who has been gone a few days. When we fly out, I drop wife at curb and go park, always tell her what row I am in. Now days with the phones that take pictures, I take a picture of the row I am in. Not sure how many on here remember the old Twin drive in over in Ohio, I totally lost the car there one night, and I was young then, cold pop corn and hot dogs when I finally found it.

I always take a picture of my parking spot at the airport.

If I am parking in a garage or something for more than an hour or so, I'll typically go to the notes section of my phone and type in the level and row that I parked in just to be safe.

Here's one for ya. I drove to Meijer in Cold Spring, was in a hurry and also trying to not forget what is was I needed. Couldn't find what I was looking for in it's usual spot in Meijer. After searching for what seemed forever, found the item, went through checkout, out the door I went. Can't find the car, I look everywhere and I simply cannot find the car. I call my wife to tell her I am stranded because I'm pretty sure my car has been stolen. As I'm talking it hits me, I switched cars with her that morning! I've been looking for the wrong car! Talk about not paying attention.

Hahaha! I have done the same thing before I remembered that i am driving a different car. It happens! Parking garages have me so freaked out that I take a picture of my spot before I go.

Always park under a light in a parking lot and again, take a picture.

Well, call me officially adle brained. I was going through my wrappped presents making sure I was being equal with all my kids...a final check I make every year. Sure enough I came across a gift that I purchased and wrapped. For the life of me I could not remember what is inside. Had to unwrap it to see. God help me!

No issues at the airport. Hotels with rental cars can be an issue though.

I take a pic of the spot, then set an appointment in my calendar with that pic for about 30 minutes after my flight is scheduled to land...that way when I'm waiting for my bag, I get my reminder, see the pic and can move directly to the car after dodging the cross traffic....

If I'm in a parking garage, I typically count the number of flights of stairs I need to take to get to the ground level.
