Randy Parker Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Final from Robertson County, per Danny Weddle.
lawildcat Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Great game! Magoffin has some fine players! Fun to watch!
sumoroyal Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Mason took the lead two or three times at the end but let Magoffin drive right to to basket or draw a foul. And they did not miss FT's. Entertaining game. Mason had a bad third QTR that cost them.
sumoroyal Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 MC--Dunaway 22, Garrison 29, Perkins 4, Boyd 11, Jackson 8, Kumler 5. (79) Magoffin--Russell 36, (7 3 three's), Lovely 29, (10-13 FT's Fourth QTR), Mullins 10, Arnett 7. (82) How many times do you see a team score 82 and only four players score?
sumoroyal Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Mason had last possession and passed up two open three's only to force one up that did not go.
All In Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Is anyone else surprised by this score? I know nothing about Magoffin, but looking at the KHSAA website, Magoffin is below the middle of the pack in the 15th region. I thought Mason County would win this game by double figures.

I know nothing about Magoffin, but looking at the KHSAA website, Magoffin is below the middle of the pack in the 15th region. I thought Mason County would win this game by double figures. Magoffin was the preseason pick to win the 15th region.
15th Region Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Not surprised at all. Magoffin County has a very good team and the games they lost had many sick players out. They are not deep, hence the scores. The 15th Region has 3 very good teams in Johnson Central, Magoffin County, and Sheldon Clark and a few solid teams under them. The crazy thing is the top 3 all play in the same district. You should expect to see on the three above at Rupp Arena come spring and they all should win above 20 games. I guess the point on Magoffin is that the big loss to Oldham is more of a surprise.
15th Region Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Magoffin was the preseason pick to win the 15th region. Correct. The 15th Region Coaches Association voted Magoffin as preseason favorite. This is the same list that goes in the CATS Pause.

I know nothing about Magoffin, but looking at the KHSAA website, Magoffin is below the middle of the pack in the 15th region. I thought Mason County would win this game by double figures. I think Magoffin has had a few key players hurt in their first couple of games. They are probably a top 3 team in the 15th region this year.
sumoroyal Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Great game! Magoffin has some fine players! Fun to watch! Always glad to see you again at the game. You got to come to Mason to get some
lawildcat Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Always glad to see you again at the game. You got to come to Mason to get some  I certainly do. Hope to make that happen soon! Great to see you and the Mrs. as well!
BirdBrain Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Very entertaining game all around. Russell from Magoffin can load it up from about anywhere on the floor. Reminds me of BBHS' Nathan Seiter, absolute pure shooter.

Does Lofton have to sit out 2 games?
