I dont think were living on our skill players at all. Ashlands offensive line has been doing great the past few weeks with the running game. And the defensive front four are doing a great job of stopping the run.

This will be yet another test for our Tomcats. The Raceland game certainly opened their eyes; and winning through 5 overtimes during a 2 game stretch surly provided some battle hardening for their confidence. Now, we go on the road to what should be a hostile environment against a team which is becoming a heated rivalry in only its 4th year. The test, IMO, will be: Can these Tomcats CONTINUE TO IMPROVE on the road, against a very proud Prestonsburg program, which is in dire need of a solid win. Beating Ashland would provide P’burg with the fuel they need to regain the status they typically enjoy. I cannot see the Blackcats tucking tail in this contest. Ashland should expect to take their very best and hopefully be able to withstand that initial wave which often typifies a game of this caliber.

Cant wait to make that trip down US 23!

Just what i wanted to say Painter.:thumb:

The Tomcats can't just show up and expect to win,P-burg will be ready to play and play emotionaly, and play to win .

The Tomcats must be mentally ready to play some aggressive football.:thumb: " Fear no one but respect all" (Vince)

I will be at the ballgame also Painter fired up and ready to go.

I'm just hoping that if Ashland beats Prestonsburg that the Ashland fire trucks can meet us at the county line.

This thread has had several good posts in a row.

These Tomcats need to stay focused on improvement and taking care of the football. Don’t take P-burg for granted – and don’t fall into the trap of thinking this will be an automatic win. Know that P-burg will throw everything they’ve got at you.

It will be a hostile environment. I don’t mean that the fans will be rude – I’m sure that they will be very hospitable. What I mean is that we WILL face adversity on the road and the team will have to face it and overcome it to get the win.

I too am looking forward to making the trip.

This game IMO will resemble last week a lot. Last years Portsmouth West game at Putnam was a Blowout. Last years Prestonsburg game at Putnam was a Blowout. Both of these team need/ed, want/ed revenge on the Tomcats. We have taken care of business in one of these contests and now the test will be can we do it again. Good teams win close games, Good teams also win games they are supposed to win. With Thomas running hard, The line blocking hard, this team is looking better and better each week. Lets hope they step up to the test and continue to get better in preperation of District play.

Looking forward to meeting the Blackcats,

Yoter

I look for Ashland to have a breakout game. All cylinders clicking in a total dismantling of Prestonsburg.
