Manual 40 Warren Central 27

Featured Replies

The Dragons led at half 13 to 7 Manual pulled away with a passing attack and fairly well controled the tempo of the second half.

Not dead yet... ;)

No. Manual has a few very talented upperclass men and alot of talented but green underclassmen. Manual is very small and very young not but not without talent. If we can get some young linemen beefed up and ready to play in a year or two Manual we be right back in the mix. Heck if the ball bounces the right way I think that they could have a winning record this regular season and that is saying alot if you look at the schedule.

I also want to give a shout out to the Dragons I wish them alot of luck for the rest of their season, the support staff are always a pleasure to work with when we visit them or when they come up to Louisville like tonight. It was great to see Dragon Fire again. I hope we keep this series up they are always competive games against teams that do not quit against each other.

I agree on every point.:thumb:

From the CJ stat sheet:

240 passing yards from Manual on 6-12 passing... when was the last time Manual racked up that much air yardage against a capable opponent? Obviously, there was some deep passing involved, much for Nathan Miller over the middle?

Central is capable in a lot of areas: pass defense is not one of them. I was very surprised to see Manual pass though. Even though it was known to be our weakness last year as well they seldom went after it. The same was true of the first half of this game but they just blew by Central in the second half.

It is fast becoming evident that the Dragons are hurting on the line play. Starters are starting to get banged up and by the 4th quarter there is a lot of pressure being applied to the QB on every single play. That's the #2 thing that killed Central tonight, #1 being the passing attack of Manual.

Central's D was without their anchor and captain Jake Forrestor tonight. He suffered an ankle injury during practice on Wednesday. Hopefully he will have a quick return as his absence caused a shuffle of the positions that I do not think worked our too well. Most notably it took Aaron Rhodes off the line, our best sack threat. Central moves into a weaker spot in their schedule beginning next week, so hopefully they can heal up and get some confidence back.

Good to see you again as well ram95. I too hope the series continues next year and beyond. With the opening up of the schedules, I see no reason it shouldn't.

Soph QB Joey Harness is playing well, 6-11-0 for 240 and 2 Td's is great.

It's weird, normally a Manual team would have 2/3 of their yardage on the ground, and 1/3 in the air. This year we've hovered around 50% - 60% passing yardage in the 3 games I've attended.

Gerry Cooper had 2 catches and a TD, TE Nate Miller 2 catches both of which Joey pinpointed him in double and triple coverage, and Rhayven Smith and David Miner each had a catch, Rhayven had 1 rec TD, 2 rushing TD's.

Our defense was a little banged up but the young guys are stepping up well, we had 2 freshmen start on defense tonight. We gave up a lot of yardage, but had some key stops Warren Central had a lot more plays, but we big played them in the 3rd quarter - scoring on all 3 drives, a 1 play, and 2 - 3 play drives while forcing them to punt twice.

I agree as well.

Congratulations Rams !
