Why do we assume it would have gone to other countries? Tech funds are set up to maximize ROI. They go where the money is. They're country agnostic.

 

I'd also ask how they know there will be X number of jobs in the start up world. Start ups usually employ very few people. It would be outstanding if 50K came to fruition but that's a guess and a hope at this point.

I could be very wrong, have been many times, but it seems that the Japanese guy said that unless Trump had won he would not have considered this. I know Trump tweeted it, but I saw or read somewhere else that this guy said that. Regulations and such was the reasoning. Like it or not Trump is going to be very business friendly. His tactics are very different, but he is aggressive and I like that.

I dont know the answer to that. I am optimistic that this will be another shot in the arm for the economy. One thing I do like about Trump that has nothing to do with what we are talking about other than the way he delivered it, is that he is bypassing the media alot to release this.

Yes that is the fund that is mentioned, what was announced yesterday seems to be where that fund will invest. Two completely different announcements.

I'm with you. Trump magically convinces someone to spend $50 billion and as a result we know 50k jobs will get created...all in a few hour long meeting?? It takes me longer to plan out my grocery shopping for the week. What's the plan, what jobs will be created, when and where will the money be spent?? I dont think Trump had to convince him. After Hillary and the D's were gone and with Trump saying he was gonna get the regulations under control and drop taxes it was a no brainer. Just what the right has been saying for years. Trump just used it to his advantage.
