Long time Breathitt County girls basketball coach and current softball coach Peggy Moore died in a car accident late Saturday night

Wow, that's awful. Prayers to the families and community there.

Such a sad situation. Many prayers.

It's so sad to hear this news about Peggy and her husband. I remember when she was an All State basketball player at Buckhorn when girls basketball was re-introduced by the KHSAA in the mid 1970's. She was a scoring machine, and went on to star at EKU.

She coached Breathitt County's girls basketball teams to three consecutive region championships in the early 2000's.

I believe her son is the head football coach at Breathitt.

She's from a big family and has many friends. Huge loss for Breathitt County and also her birth home of Buckhorn. She will be missed.
