Tonight CBS / SEC Play by Play broadcaster Verne Lundquist called his last SEC College football game at the SEC Championship game.

A class individual, sincerely good man and great play by play broadcaster. Vern is well deserving of any and all awards, acknowledgements that he has and/or will receive.

VERNE ....You did good, YES SIR !

When he was put on the SEC games from the NFL he thought at first it was a demotion. Soon he realized it was the best thing to ever happen to him.

I love listening to Verne do college games, his voice and Keith Jackson's are what college football will always sound like to me...I loved them both.

I've loved Vern for thirty years in football and basketball.

I read that in that really good article about him on The Ringer about 2 months ago. Gonna miss him.

Man I miss Keith Jackson. I feel like he got out before his sharpness left. I in some ways wish Verne had done the same, but I will miss him nonetheless.

He's still doing NCAA hoops this year?

Met Verne at the hotel that me and my buddies were staying at when UK played UCLA in Chicago. Seemed like a great guy. When we got back to the hotel later that night, he was in the lobby having a few drinks with his sidekick Allie La Force. If I was Verne I would never retire if she was on the road with me at every sporting event.......Ha Ha!!!!!

Verne does a wonderful job, adds just enough color commentary to keep it light and interesting but always keeps it professional and unbiased.
