You are correct. Facts are facts. The fact is, they were behind 13-0, and had done nothing until they put Johnson in. Start Johnson, let him complete a few passes, hand the ball off, get up by 3 scores, then pull him.

This. Can't understand why anyone has their panties in a wad over Stoops not starting Johnson. No reason what so ever he should have ever had to touch the field. And to say AP isn't very good is being extremely kind. They are flat out terrible.

Then don't start him vs Louisville. A game you have little chance to win versus a game that you HAVE to win to get into a bowl game. He gets an even longer rest this way.

Not an apples to apples comparison. Is there a better bowl berth with a win at Louisville on the line? In state rivalry on the line can you afford to do that?

They definitely get a better bowl with a win at Louisville for the simple fact that they'd have 7 wins instead of 6.

Not to mention, neither QB played defense, and it was the defense that was being sliced up by Peay.

Was so glad to see this Football team get this one and secure a bowl game. I will admit that I am one that still believes that there are too many bowl games and a .500 team(no, I don't think that UK beats UL next week) / rewarding mediocrity is crazy but I am glad for this team, players & coaches.

 

O.K. , Lets be honest, when AP (an 1AA team that hasn't won a game in two seasons) scored that second TD ......How many thought "Oh :poop:, here we go again" !! :lol2:

 

Actually I thought the second TD would wake everyone up and the rout would begin, which is what happened.

 

The "reward" of the bowl game is basically an extra Spring practice. Invaluable when you are trying to get program on its feet.
