Playing a game at John Hardin in the playoffs is TOUGH...

 

This is no joke! As seeing many of these battles back in the day, John Hardin plays very tough at home in the playoffs.

 

For John Hardin - they have taken a long road to get hear with some potholes (BG, Christian County, and North Hardin), but lately some high plains (Central Hardin and Shelby County). You can bad mouth their early team if you'd like, but they won't be playing Friday night. I watched the BG/JHardin game and things obviously didn't click for them that night, but they had some good pieces you could tell. Don't count out John Hardin in the playoffs.

 

For Franklin Simpson - they have been strong all year. You can bad mouth their schedule if you want, but to beat the Defending 4A Champions twice in 1 year is very impressive to me, especially knowing what kind of team South Warren has. This team has added a passing wrinkle they didn't have last year and it has made them VERY difficult to deal with. Their defense is also very good, but likely hasn't seen a team with JH's athletes except for South.

 

I expect a VERY good game and for it to be close as long as JH has their players healthy. I think FS's Dline will play well, but field position will be key in this game. Short fields are always favorable, but especially with the Wing-T. If Franklin gets up on JH early, it will be difficult for John to overcome that I think. But if it goes the other way, JH will be in it to win it at the end!

FS has trailed in three games.

 

Greenwood scored late to lead 20-17. FS won 24-20.

 

SW led 14-0 and 21-7 during the Sept 23rd game. FS won 30-24.

 

Russellville led 7-0. FS won 34-7.

 

SW led 7-0 in the 2nd quarter. FS won 33-16.

 

In the SW game last week:

FS drove 76 yds in 10 plays, 4:42 clock to tie 7-7.

FS drove 89 yds in 4 plays, 1:32 clock to lead 14-7

FS went 86 yds in 3 plays, 1:04 clock to lead 21-7

FS drove 42 yds in 9 plays, 4:56 clock to lead 33-14.

To clear up the "assault"; the young mans sibling had gotten into a fight and a scrum broke out. I've been there like I'm sure we all have been there when coming to the rescue of a family member; not excusing what happened..but, sometimes you get that "stupid strength".

 

The teacher in the incident came to the student athlete and wrapped him up around the shoulders, the young man (not seeing who it was wrapping him up, probably thinking it was another student ) started twisting/Fighting to get out of the hold and both went to the ground hard w/ the young man falling on top of the teacher.

 

Nobody was injured. The teacher is fine with no injuries. It was two males, teacher and student that both went to the ground. With the student-athlete falling on top of the teacher. It was a big fall truth be told.

 

The media, however like they most always do with cases like this, will twist and spin it in whatever negative light they can.

But at a minimum; the initial reports say there was a young lady either pushed to the ground or struck to the ground by a young man twice her size. I have a daughter; and if this were her this wouldn't be so ho hum to me.

And I've also been in education long enough where things also happen when as a teacher you are trying to break up fights. You catch some accidental chin music, scratches, even getting tripped-knocked to the floor (all unintentionally a lot of the times on behalf of the student(s)).

I under Harry...I don't think the teacher thing is that big of a deal; but the young lady issue is what's a little disturbing to me. Hopefully the initial reports are blown out of proportion and it was a lot to do about nothing. The team certainly doesn't need anymore distractions

I would totally agree and like you, I'm hoping the same.

 

No...they don't. But, I'll give this team some credit; they've taken distractions and tragedy this year and slapped it in the face the following game. Now, I'm not sure they can do that this week or not because FS is just THAT good. But this team has played it's best ball this year following distractions and tragedy.

I think FS is in for more of a game than expected. Very impressed with JH.

 

FS expects an extremely competitive game. There are no delusions here about the ability of JH's team. The Cats are dialed in.

First, I am obviously going to pick FS to win. I have watched FS win 13 straight under all kinds of circumstances. It's hard to go against that.

 

CalPreps computers have FS as a 12 point favorite.

 

Now, I have probably watched more John Hardin game video in the last few days than anyone except the FS coaches. John Hardin presents a challenge. A huge challenge. This is by far the most athletic team we have faced, the team with the most overall speed, and the team with most difficult QB to defend.

 

John Harden has faced at least one team better than FS in Bowling Green. Christian Co is probably better than FS and maybe PRP. So JH has been tested and taken some lumps.

 

This game will come down to time of possession for FS and those possessions ending in points. No turnovers and very few penalties. If that happens FS will win. If not...13-1 is a heck of a year.

I think that is probably a very fair and accurate assessment. It should be a heck of a ball game. I'm like you, I think who takes care of the ball the best could be who wins this ball game.
