I have heard alot about this by the talking heads and political pundits since they were really really wrong on this election. To cap it off today, I heard a African American politician claiming they the Democrats had to somehow get back the White Rural Voters to the Democratic party. I never thought I would hear that.

 

So with that being said, how can this happen? Clearly the rural voters or middle America were really on board with Trump and his message. But I contest that there is much more than meets the eye. Its clear they rejected the current path of the United States, or the liberal agenda. So with the Democrats moving even father to the left how can the Democrats reel these voters back in. I feel given the direction of the Dems that they risk losing even more of the base in these areas.

Democrats winning back the support of rural Americans would be like bank robbers persuading customers in a bank to voluntarily participate in the crime, but not to partake of any of the loot. It is not going to happen.

Maybe the question should pertain to the white voters who traditionally go D but went for Trump.

If you want to have good debate (which I'm not sure you really do) then have the thread talk about the voters that won the election for Donald Trump. It wasn't the "rural" voter. As I've already stated, it was the voter who pulls the D lever that left that side of the ballot for the other side.

Clyde I posted what I did after hearing a black Senator on Cnn yesterday saying this same thing. Was very surprising for me to hear that the liberal politicians were talking about how to get the white rural vote or they would never win again. You are not helping their case.

 

I realize that this has been a very very hurtful election for you, but suck it up buttercup and quit blaming me for starting a thread that your own party is talking about. Maybe it will help you get your head wrapped around why you lost. I mean you got four years to figure it out or you will lose again. Again. Again. The number who came out to vote versus recent elections tells us more about the American disconnect with these choices than anything out there. Some people just could not stomach voting at all.

 

It was hard for me to vote and I will say that I did something I have never done in any previous Presidential Election. I did not vote for either major party candidate. I could not in good conscience and faith vote for either of them.
