November 14, 20169 yr Author I hope this game portends well for NKU in conference. Young team. Never know. Lots of hope, though.
November 14, 20169 yr Sounds like they competed well, and certainly had a chance to win the game. Northern Kentucky University Athletics - Norse take fight to Illini, but fall 79-64
November 14, 20169 yr The Norse held a 43-32 rebound advantage despite Northern Kentucky's tallest players being 6-foot-7. Northern Kentucky was sloppy with the ball for most of the game, committing 18 turnovers that led to 21 Illinois points. ''Our youth showed when things went bad and I thought their veteran leadership showed with their run,'' Northern Kentucky coach John Brannen said.
November 14, 20169 yr NKU has three games in the : Tarkett Sports Classic at Miami of Ohio Friday at 5pm vs Austin Peay Saturday at 1:30pm vs Delaware Sunday at 2pm vs Miami 3 games in 3 days might tax the Norse depth but hopefully they can compete in all three games.
November 14, 20169 yr NKU was up 8 at one point LATE in the first half and at the time had 5 freshman on the court! Get excited about whats going on there guys, it's going to take some time still, but this team is going to be good and this program is undoubtedly on a steep climb upward! Still, temper that by saying they will not have a winning record this year.
November 14, 20169 yr I hope this game portends well for NKU in conference. Young team. Never know. Lots of hope, though.Last night was what you expect from a team made up of 10 freshman and sophomores. Ugly. Turnovers. But they fought, and fought hard. Illinois is HUGE and they outrebounded them. That to me tells me they went in there and fought!
November 14, 20169 yr Team is so young but they are heading in the right direction. Turnovers have been an issue thru the scrimmages and preseason. Holland is not a true PG and the other PG's are true freshmen. Young bigs continue to flash and should be the reason for great optimism around the program.
November 14, 20169 yr I wish this te had Bolden and Hatton. It would be awesome if NKU could get a top rated Cincinnati kid.
