October 31, 20169 yr Author Why? That's why I'm confused....I can't come up with a scenario that this makes sense in.
October 31, 20169 yr Unless they have a backup who's better and he wasn't going to play. I don't know who that might be though.
October 31, 20169 yr Author So I think I get it now....So he's a FA after this season and wasn't going to be resigned. When he left, they'd be given a compensatory pick in 2018. By doing this deal, they get the pick a year earlier. Still don't like it as he's their best LB, but Freeney, Hightower, Mingo, and McClellin are all above average guys. Plus they just added Kyle Van Noy last week.
October 31, 20169 yr Why would the Browns give up ANY draft pick for a guy who can be a free agent in 8 games? :idunno:
October 31, 20169 yr Author Why would the Browns give up ANY draft pick for a guy who can be a free agent in 8 games? :idunno: They're the Browns, is any explanation really needed? I imagine they'll slap the Franchise Tag on him.

October 31, 20169 yr Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter With Jamie Collins contract coming up, he was at one point asking for what one league source described as “Von Miller money." Von: 6-$114.5M Ben Volin @BenVolin I'm told Collins turned down $11m per year from the Patriots. Franchise Tag should be around $15m this spring Even with that it's an odd move to get rid of one the best defensive players when a super bowl run is very likely.
October 31, 20169 yr I understand the desire to get something in return, but that joker can flat play. Frankly, from a possible opponent's perspective, I love this move.
October 31, 20169 yr Report says Bill wasn't happy with his penchant for going rogue. Cost them 28 yards early in game. Not the first time.
October 31, 20169 yr Report says Bill wasn't happy with his penchant for going rogue. Cost them 28 yards early in game. Not the first time.Plus he wants Von Miller money, listen, I get the 277 reasons that the Pats were willing to trade him. I'm still waiting for ONE reason why the Browns would give up a pick for a guy that they get for 8 games, and, if UKMF is correct, they get the right to automatically give him Top 5 LB money...and STILL no guarantee he sticks around beyond 2017?
October 31, 20169 yr How bad would it suck to go from a team probably favored to win the Superbowl to a winless team in Cleveland in the middle of the season.
October 31, 20169 yr How bad would it suck to go from a team probably favored to win the Superbowl to a winless team in Cleveland in the middle of the season. Sure would feel like punishment to me.
October 31, 20169 yr As the details come out this feels so Belichek. Do you think he has the attention of every player on that Patriots roster now if he didn't have it before? Are his players focused on getting it right every time now?
