Most of her family the Harneys have lived in Independence for years.

We don't dare question anything that Simon does in the 8th region, after all they have (3) all region guards, 1,000 points scorers that just end up at Simon. Maybe they can win the region this time around.

 

I detect a bit of sarcasm in this post but that's ok...I can't speak for the others, but I imagine my daughter is one of those you speak of. I grew up in northern Ky. and my wife in Cincinnati. We spent 13 years in Grant Co. And we were both ready to get back up to NKY. Our jobs are here, families, alot of the kid's activities are up here. It just made sense for us to make the move up here. I'm not gonna lie and say basketball didn't have anything to do with where we decided to locate up here. SK is a great school and does have very good sports programs.

The aggravating part is when a coaching staff gets up in front of their peers at a banquet and tells everyone there in the speech that an all region player was asked to come to Simon, blatantly lets everyone know. With their line up they have a shot at the state tournament in my opinion. It just gets old to hear that another girl wants to come to Simon. I really believe that if they are in the 9th region they don't get as many kids, they assume they can have an all star team and win the 8th, I think that has happened one time, and a technical foul helped that one. Had the best team by 20 points plus last year and could not get it done, so it appears they went and got another play to help make it happen.

I don't know anything about the speech you are speaking about and I agree about them having a shot at the tournament. The Harney deal is simply, to my understanding, is a guy who went through a family tragedy and wants to come home to be with them.. BTW they were 9-1 vs. the 9th region last season. And honestly I would love to see them back in the 9th.. Along with Scott and Campbell Co. Just like the old days. There were a lot of good rivalries then.

Last year they lost the regional final to Trimble, who they are double digits better than, no offense to Trimble I was glad they won, their kids played hard. But anyway I knew Harney was coming in March so if that means anything. Making all star teams to win is okay if you are fine with it, and KHSAA allows it, it goes on all the time. I just know that it means about 5 less shots per player, and that seem to cost them in the final last year. But they are definitely loaded this season and next as all are juniors. Meir graduates so they will need a big which shouldn't be hard to find

Holmes, Highlands, Holy Cross, Ryle, a whole lot different than Owen, Gallatin, Henry, and the district they are in now. They beat Highlands on a miracle shot and lost to them handily the year before. 9th would be a whole lot harder to win trust me.

Never said it wouldn't be harder. Never said anything about how they would fair if in the 9th. All I said was I wish they were back in the 9th like the old days. I would rather drive 10 fo 20 minutes to watch a region game than 2 hours. As far as schedules go, look at last season and the upcoming season schedules and show me a schedule in the state that's much tougher. And RCC9 I'm glad you realized it was just summer.

I was just using it to back his point. I would agree that things would be a little tougher for them in the 9th.

 

It makes no difference what SK does or who they bring in. It's not my region. Besides one fun game a year, it makes no difference to me if they win every game or lose every game.

Any athlete getting to go play with another school in the summer should never be allowed unless they have transferred and it is approved. It allows for way to much stuff to occur. Come play with us and...... Our KHSAA should have to enforce same across the board for transferring. How would you feel as a coach, to have your best player play with another team, or if you were a player and a teammate played with someone else. Just ridiculous. I have said it before on here club ball is coming, there is no policing anywhere anymore.
