PRP is probably one of the best 15 teams in all of Kentucky.

I know this but if Central is one of the top 3 teams in 3A like most of the members on here think they are PRP shouldn't have put a running clock on them. IMO with the exception of Belfry the rest of 3A is way down this year.

Corbin is pretty good too. The 3A title trophy should go ahead and be sent to Belfry this year though.

I agree that Belfry and Corbin are the top two teams in 3A but I think there is a wide gap between them and the rest of 3A and Belfry is probably three or four TD'S better than Corbin.

I think Chuck Smith said it best when he stated that we must have a running game going into the playoffs. I don't understand why you would line up in a one back pro set formation and have two of your proven playmakers standing on the sidelines. Crawford, Ashburn and Barleston give the Rebels great strength at that position and have at least two of them on the field at all times. This could even improve our somewhat anemic passing game that we have shown against the better teams on the schedule. As was stated in the paper good defense and a steady running game may not make the highlight reels, but will definitely win football games.

Boyle is exactly where most predicted they would be. Boyle is a very mediocre blue collar team. We have plenty of good players, but no great players.

 

Offensively, Boyle does not play well from behind the chains, and when the Rebels force big plays they usually get in trouble. However, when they execute simple plays they typically are successful.

 

Defensively, I think Boyle has improved greatly on getting to the football, but do not do a good job of finishing plays and getting ball carriers to the ground, partly because our defensive unit is so small. But all in all the Rebels defense may keep them in games throughout the playoffs.

 

The team motto this year is #changethecycle and to this point the Rebels are on an identical path as last year. The defining moment for this season has yet to play out, but that moment is rapidly approaching and I am excited to see the outcome.

I've been saying it for 2 or 3 years and even got some mean messages sent to me this preseason. Boyle has not had a complete Oline and Dline at the same time since the last title in 2010. They have had some good players obviously but too many going both ways and too many seasons where starting lineups are changed throughout the season trying to find somebody to do the job. It always has and always will START UP FRONT.

I checked back to '98 and couldn't find one.

 

In '94 they played Danville in the region finals. I can't remember their '95 season exactly, '96 they played Breathitt County in the semi's I believe (or maybe they lost to Madison Southern in the region finals, '97 they lost to Bourbon in the region finals, '98 they lost to LexCath in the 2nd round.

 

I'm guessing maybe '93 in his 2nd year when they went 3-8 in Chuck's 2nd year.
