Way over-rated Nebraska travels to Madison to face the Badgers. It is also FreakFest (Freakfest Music Festival Madison, WI) in Madison on Saturday night, so that town is going to be BONKERS.

 

If Wisconsin gets 200+ yards rushing, they win the game. Nebraska's only chance (and it is slim) is to control the Badgers' running game and make Wiscy have to throw the ball to win. They won't be able to.

 

The prime time game on ESPN will do a huge number, and those millions of eyeballs will see Wisconsin beat my Huskers 20-13. Sadly.

Nebraska goes into Madison and steals the W....14-13.

Having now seen it since Louisville joined the ACC, that might be Florida State. Every fan in the conference that isn't a Florida State fan seems to really loathe the Seminoles.

 

I've never really had anything against Wisconsin, but that might just be because they've never really positively or negatively affected me in any real way.

There with you. And Madison may be the coolest city in America. I would love to live there, but not sure I could immerse myself with the Badger culture.

Madison is one of the funner cities I've been to, I would like to go back again eventually.

I think this will probably be close and don't think that Nebraska will leave with the win. I believe that this is one of the more interesting games of the weekend.

Okay, upon further review, the difference in ratings on Saturday Night ABC games, versus Saturday Night ESPN games is dramatic...regardless of match-ups.

 

ABC has averaged a 3.83 this year in Saturday prime time (led by a 5.5 for Louisville at Clemson [9.294 million viewers] // Most watched College Football game in any time slot this year)

 

ESPN has averaged a 1.88 this year in Saturday prime time (led by 2.6 for Clemson at Auburn [4.742 million viewers])

 

So...with that as the landscape, what does better as compared to their time-slot average, Clemson at FSU on ABC or Nebraska at Wisconsin on ESPN?

Just for kicks, it is horrendous how bad the TV ratings are for the ESPN Thursday night college game each week.

 

That said, credit to Houston at UC ( @gametime ) for having the best ratings to date this year on a Thursday night -- they did a 1.33, which equalled 2.159 million viewers.

 

The lowest is a .4 rating for Temple at Memphis, which had 626,000 viewers. Wowza.

 

The average this year is .786. Much lower than the average rating of a Noon kickoff on ESPN...and only slightly higher than the noon kick on ESPN2.
