Dixie would be 3-0 if they played SK's schedule and SK would be 0-3 if they played Dixie's schedule IMO. We will find out when SK plays at Dixie. I think you will see the Little Red Colonels pull out a close win vs. SK just like last year. Maybe voting on what has happened so far I should have put SK above Dixie.

 

After watching Dixie play Saturday afternoon I came away impressed. They (The Lil Colonels) need to start believing in themselves, as you could see the longer they stayed in the game the better they got. The Lil Colonels will beat Boone, Conner, Scott, and Holmes and should beat CC and SK, but Ryle, well they will really need to play their best game of the season and even then, I am not so sure.

 

BTW, what is really a shame is the crowd that Dixie brought with them.... It is indeed sad when a school is so large and yet so close to CovCath (that you could almost call it a home game).......but yet so small....

Not sure which game you were watching but most of NC's yards of offense came after it was 26-0 Ryle. The refs took away a Ryle TD in the first half on a joke of a clipping call on a brilliant interception return. Ryle would demolish NC once they get their good passing QB back. You need to get over the fact that NC is not as good as last year and Ryle is better.

I'm not sure why anyone thinks Ryle deserves to be No. 3. What Beechwood did to Dixie was more impressive than what the Raiders Friday. The Glen Este team that totally handled them in week 1, was only ranked ninth last week in Cincy's coaches poll.

 

IMO, Beechwood has been as impressive as any team in Northern Ky., in doing what they need to be doing right now. Not that they'd beat CovCath or Highlands, they'd have little chance against one and almost no shot at the other, but they've played tremendous football out of the gate.

 

Based on what they've done and how they've played, they're a solid three in my book right now. In fact, many of us may be kind in giving Ryle the four spot over Simon Kenton, based on how teams have done thus far.

I don't think Dixie's crowd, or lack thereof, is either a shame or sad. If you're a student or alumni, it's in middle of the day on a Saturday, that is also Labor Day weekend. It's also the first full day of college football season, which is relevent since only football fans will go to this game anyway. Many non-playing students at Dixie work part-time jobs, that often includes working at some point on Saturday. And, finally, Dixie had it handed to them the first two weeks of the season, and this game looked to be at least as bad, if not worse than those weeks. So why pay the $5, to watch a probable blowout, even if none of the other factors prevented you from going.

 

If alumni and students were required to pay to support mediocre football, UC would have a waiting list for tickets.

I was sitting in the Dixie section, of course, and looking across field to the CCH side, we commented to each other about the lack of attendence in the stands on the CCH side past the press box. It was half empty. It seemed to me that the Dixie side was filled in a little more than the CCH side. We were packed in like sardines around midfield! We were wondering where the CCH faithful were. We had other team's coaches scouting on Dixie's side who commented on CCH's lack of attendance to us at halftime. Both teams could have had a better showing! CCH had better attendance of students, but Dixie had better attendance of "adults". Sad showing on both teams considering it was the Battle of Dixie Highway. No matter what the pre-game hype was (Dixie stinks so far in most people's mind), these kids deserved a packed house. Granted, alot of people stood, but it wasn't an impressive showing on either team's part.

Ifs and would bes. 0-3 is 0-3. Until Dixie beats someone I would not have them in a top 10 list. That could very well change in the next couple of weeks.

Well according to Malachi, Holmes being 2-1 means nothing because they lost to HC...even though they handled Pendleton (like they should have have) and beat a good South Laurel team in convincing fashion

 

 

IMO this poll should be based on teams performances so far, but I guess we're going on reputation rather than what's been shown so far :confused:

I dunno but I think SK is a top 5 or six team as of right now, as for the rest I'd say

Ok. Holmes is #10. They deserve it. I wouldn't get to worked up about where a team is placed in these polls. 10th, 5th, 1st, or last. Means absolutely nothing. Good luck!
