My son has played at Tower a LOT, my only issue ever with that field was it seemed so over-rubbered, if you'll allow the term.

Look, other than video you aren't going to know 100% or not if it was offside. That said, ill admit given the images we have seen, it looks like it should have been a no offside decision. They happen, and it stinks this one might have resulted in a goal. That said if this was the only legit attack of the night, then more could have been done to not make it the deciding factor.

I went back and edited, thanks for replying so fast. Jeeeeesh!!! Look I am a hoops and football guy...I dont know anything about soccer except that they are exceptionally skilled/conditioned athletes who run around trying to kick a ball in a net. LOL

The problem with the still shots is that you do not have the angle the official had. It looks very close to me and again it is unknown if player was off and came back on to receive the ball. You would have to watch video in slow motion.

 

As for the ND coach yelling out, was he incorrect in what he was claiming? It certainly seemed like Highlands coach was upset after the game with the lack of calls.

Ok. I don't have a dog in this fight but the pictures don't lie. Photo shows ball on girls foot and the highlands girl is onside, 2nd photo shows ball kicked and the highlands girl is onside. The video or where the ref standing isn't going to change the fact. The only thing that would tell me is the official is poorly positioned and not doing his job properly

This day and age with all the technology it's harder on officials to make these sudden judgement calls and be 100% all the time. It's just a shame that such a critical call effects so many people.

I for one would never officiate or coach now days so my hat off to all those that do. But dang if your not 100% sure don't make that call

As far as coaches yelling. I want a coach that will fight for their players. The official can very easily stop all the talking if they choose to do so.

Very likely not the only possibly missed call or non call of the match. How many times did the NDA coach have to point out rough play? We're any of those instances in a spot that a call would have resulted in a good scoring opportunity? Who knows. "The world's an imperfect place. Rule of thumb if not a 100% sure of the offside than keep the flag down. Give the benifit of the doubt to the offense. That being said there are numerous calls or noncalls that usually equal out in the end.
