Actually the first "team building" fan retreat occurred in December, 2004, during the state finals, and strangely everyone seemed to get along fine, and some good relationships were formed. :thumb:

In which case a refresher is in order!

Is the St. Xavier kicking game an issue. I know that we both have had tremendous kicking games in the past, and I for one am suprised that a return came against X, especially because I feel their coverage is superior than most in the state.

Reason is: All but on of our kicks have gone in the endzone, we have only missed one kick (PAT or FG), and we are averaging over 47 yards per punt. Not to mention, that our returners seem to be quite dangerous this season. No prodding, just wondering, what is up with the special teams play at X this season? Is it top notch, like normal?

The St.X kicking game is very good with the exception of the extra point blocking and a couple of bad kick off coverages against FC. The kicker and punter is very good as well as the return teams. Prior to the FC game(which I missed) he put 10 of 12 kick offs in the end zone and is booming the punts. I believe he is 2 for 2 in field goal attempts as well. I am not concerned and have full confidence we will be blocking better on extra points and covering kick off better as well. St.X fans are used to perfection in that respect and are a little bit spoiled and critical at this time as they should be. So far a mistake has not cost the Tigers but there will come a game when they have to execute much better to pull out a win.I am glad it was exposed early so there will be plenty of time to work on it.

How about in the third round of the playoffs, if both teams make it, to celebrate the end of the 4 class system that allows the top 4 teams( let's not forget about undefeated PRP!!) to knock each other off before reaching the semifinals!!

It appears to me the extra point problems are between the snapper, holder and kicker. The reason I say this is the extra point blocks have been coming off the edges. Since no one blocks oustide it is the speed of the kick blocker coming off the edge vs. the speed of the snap, placement, and kick. It is my opinion from personal observation that the snap is slower and not as accurate. I am sure the X coaches are fine tuning this.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Actually, in addition to the problem areas you have identified, two blocks have come up the middle. The center/guard and guard/tackle holes have been sives also.

One of the two in the middle was by a 6'6 guy who jumped, had little to do with a sive.

Have you paid attention to the amount of line penetration being allowed even on the successful kicks? There were a lot more extra points that were a hair's breath away from being blocked from both the inside and outside rush.
