October 19, 20169 yr Instead of pulling cheap soap opera stunts, looking unbalanced by continually tweeting and making crazy accusations, etc., here is what Trump should do. Shut up on the counter attacks. In one quick line deny any attack or accusation then move on to real issues. Minimize all these attacks by talking about real issues. Trump's best moments in the debates have been when he talked about the economy, his positions on trade, tax reductions, etc. He should spend 99% of his time in this next debate being a man of substance with good ideas that people can buy into. He needs to show the people something they can vote for. This whole campaign has been so negative it is about voting against candidates and not voting for them. Here is an example of how this works. At the last debate Trump brought up a legal case in which Hillary defended an accused rapist years ago as an attorney and attacked the 12 year old victim. When Trump threw that at Hillary, what did she do? Nothing. She ignored it. She moved on to other points she wanted to make and didn't say one word about the case and Trump's accusation. And no one has said a word about it since. She made it into a complete non issue by not even responding to it. Trump needs to do the same with these accusations. He has made these issues much worse himself because he can't shut up. They are in the media because he won't stop talking about it. Meanwhile, none of his message about why people should vote for him is not talked about. If Trump would act like a real candidate for President and focus on the issues that people should vote for him on, his chances of winning would increase dramatically.
October 19, 20169 yr Trump should be attacking Hillary Clinton's character, because she is corrupt to the core. Trump's problem is that he has heaped lavish praise and generous donations on both Bill and Hillary Clinton in the past. For me, his friendship and donations to the Clinton campaigns and the Clinton Foundation is Trump's biggest weakness. Trump's stunts to embarrass Clinton and her supporters will not work because most of her supporters were desensitized to political corruption years ago. Trump's record of enabling political corruption with his checkbook hurts his credibility as he accurately describes Hillary's many character flaws. In a nutshell, Donald Trump is the perfect opponent for a bad candidate like Hillary. Republicans should have known how this campaign would end, but they dismissed the polls that showed how weak of an opponent Trump would be for Clinton.
October 19, 20169 yr He has apologized, move on. Stay away from a rigged election subject. Stay positive and firm. Do not ramble on. Trump should speak only about his party platform. Stick to about 8 of the important issues. I listed them in an earlier thread. Repeat and drive them home. Hopefully the moderator will not ask some of the silly questions of the past debates.
October 19, 20169 yr Author You are on the right track Mamaw. Even if the moderator asks "silly questions", Trump needs to quickly address the question then spend the rest of the time talking about good reasons to vote for him.
October 19, 20169 yr You are on the right track Mamaw. Even if the moderator asks "silly questions", Trump needs to quickly address the question then spend the rest of the time talking about good reasons to vote for him. There are no good reasons to vote for Trump, aside from the fact that he has no long record of political corruption, which is the only reason that he is keeping within striking distance of Hillary Clinton in the polls. Trump's strength is Hillary's weakness as a candidate. Running against political corruption, open borders, Hillary's record of corruption and incompetence is Trump's best hope for an upset.
October 19, 20169 yr There are no good reasons to vote for Trump, aside from the fact that he has no long record of political corruption No, he just has a long record of being one of the corruptors...
October 19, 20169 yr I wish a question would be asked about the future of religious freedom and what it would mean if HC became President.
October 19, 20169 yr I wish a question would be asked about the future of religious freedom and what it would mean if HC became President. I don't understand why you would think she would challenge religious freedom. My guess is she would use the separation of church and state. I don't think this is an issue unless I am missing something. Nothing wrong with the question, though. Just don't think most think that it is under attack.
October 19, 20169 yr I wish they would ask HC and Trump. why they continue to lie when there is clear video evidence to dispute what they are lying about.
October 19, 20169 yr Author No, he just has a long record of being one of the corruptors... That is a point I am surprised hasn't been made more often. Trump supporters want to attack Soros and other big money contributors but Trump is one of those big money contributors who has used his money for years to try and win influence. On top of all that, Trump won't divest himself of his business interests if he wins creating huge conflicts of interest.
October 19, 20169 yr I don't understand why you would think she would challenge religious freedom. My guess is she would use the separation of church and state. I don't think this is an issue unless I am missing something. A big part of almost any religion (especially Christianity) is evangelization. Recent comments from Clinton and her staff (discussed in other threads) have hinted that she desires religion to change to the world instead of the other way around. Many fear that she wants church goers to keep their faith inside the doors of a building on Sunday and be forced to keep quiet outside those doors about beliefs. Freedom involves the ability to share ideas among each other with the freedom of those listening to be able to accept, reject or ignore those ideas. The trend recently is to quickly label points of view as "hate speech" and "racism" when they are simply examples of personal beliefs tied to faith. It is getting worse.
October 19, 20169 yr Author I wish a question would be asked about the future of religious freedom and what it would mean if HC became President. Isn't Trump's attack on Islam an attack on religious freedom? Where do you see Hillary attacking religious freedom?
October 19, 20169 yr Isn't Trump's attack on Islam an attack on religious freedom? Where do you see Hillary attacking religious freedom? See above. I'm not a supporter of Trump's view on immigration so I can't answer that.
October 19, 20169 yr Author See above. I'm not a supporter of Trump's view on immigration so I can't answer that. Gotcha. I see where you are coming from now. Were there wikileaks emails where Hillary Clinton herself made anti-religion statements? I have seen where Podesta and others made comments about this, particularly on Catholicism, but I didn't see anything from Hillary.

I have seen where Podesta and others made comments about this, particularly on Catholicism, but I didn't see anything from Hillary. I'm sure if I took the time to research it, I would find something. I think a bigger indicator would be if she chooses NOT to denounce what was said by her staff.
