Winner will get Paris in the opening round of playoffs. The loser will likely get Bracken County in the 1st round then make a trip to Carlisle to play Nicholas County.

It could happen. Not likely but it could. If it does, the tiebreakers make it a mess. Paris is locked in as the 4 regardless.

This game essentially will determine who hosts the regional final.

Paintsville is ranked #1 for a reason. I don't want to pick this one but I think that Paintsville has played a pretty legit / tough schedule as well as the Rams and probably has the advantage. As Doc said, this one has been circled on the Rams calender since last Nov. and I would imagine that Paintsville has been looking to it as well. A toss up that could go either way, the LOS battle and whoever makes the least mistakes is the District Champion.

One thing that anyone in attendance can be sure of is seeing some absolute "Cage Match" both teams as both have the rep of really hitting. Plenty of whirlpools, ice packs with both teams after this one is a certain bet.....A "Slobberknocker Supreme" in Ramville on Friday night.

I feel like Paintsville has played the tougher schedule. Correct me if I am wrong, but Paintsville beat 3 teams who will win their district, Pikeville, Williamsburg, and Bourbon Co. Raceland is as tough a place to play as anywhere in the state. I think Paintsville's schedule has prepared them more so for this physical matchup. Come on Friday night!!!

I'll take Paintsville in a close one. As I've said before, everyone on the Rams schedule is down this year except Paintsville. The Rams are the best team in NEKY but their undefeated record is fools gold (as is the Nicholas Co record). Should be one the best games played all year in NEKY.

I would like to read a breakdown on the line of scrimmage matchups. Too often we all get focused on those skill players. The fact is, most big games are won or lost at the line of scrimmage. Let's hear about the matchups in the trenches.

I also agree that everyone on Raceland's schedule is down, but let's not pretend like everyone on Paintsville's schedule is on the up and up. As I look at both schedules, I would give Paintsville the slight upper hand because of their win over Pikeville. I don't however think that Pikeville is leaps and bounds better than Raceland.

I don't hate Raceland, wish the comets had their tradition. What I don't like is when the orange goggles get in the way of being objective.......i get being a fan and supporting the program.......but paintsville should win this close, very good game between two quality programs. And i know, any given friday.....blah, blah, blah
