September 30, 201610 yr Read on Twitter this morning that Reed apparently walked into the locker room yesterday, announced he was playing all five matches and that he'd only be playing with Speith. As usual, stuff like this is why these guys are always doomed. Americans don't play well together.

I can't argue with it, but walking in and making pronouncements was more the problem. But for the two of them to take that opener against Europe's top team of Rose and Stenson is darned impressive. If they can back that kind of confidence up, then go for it. It's what I've been waiting for.

Rematch in Match 5 - Reed / Spieth against Rose / Stenson Match 6 - Campbellsville's Finest (JB Holmes) / Ryan Moore v. Garcia / Cabrera Bello Match 7 - Snedeker / Koepka v. Kaymer / Willett Match 8 - DJ / Kuchar v. McIlroy / Pieters I like it. All 12 for the US will have played after Day 1. 2 teams that played best in the AM are rewarded by staying together in the PM. Re-evaluate at the end of Day 1 and see where we are. Looks like Fitzpatrick and Wood left out of Day 1 for the Euros.

October 1, 201610 yr Spieth and Reed blow a 4 up lead on the back nine to hang on and get a half. USA leads 6 1/2 - 5 1/2 after the morning session. The US will need to win at least 3 of the afternoon matches to have a chance of winning the cup. If they go into Sunday with no better than a 1 pt lead their done.
